NYC Sues 30 Counties Over Blocking Illegal Immigrant Relocation Plan
Epoch Times ^ | 6-7-23 | Dorothy Li

New York City took more than 30 upstate counties and Long Island to court on June 7, accusing them of violating state and federal law by refusing to take in illegal immigrants relocating from the city.

Local officials at these localities issued executive orders and barred hotels in their jurisdictions from accommodating illegal immigrants. The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan State Supreme Court, asked the court to strike down all these orders.

“These counties have implemented misguided and unlawful executive orders premised on false claims that the prospect of a few hundred asylum seekers sheltered at the city’s expense across multiple counties constitute an emergency and imperil public safety,” Sylvia Hinds-Radix, a lawyer for the city, said at Wednesday’s press conference.

false claims that the prospect of a few hundred asylum seekers sheltered at the city’s expense

That the city is paying the expense is not a false claim is it?

This is really a Federal issue of course. Someone has to pay for the expense, who gets to decide whom? Mayor Adams gets to decide that Orange City has to pay? If New York City is sending them, NYC should pay.

And I guess since they are sending them inside their own state, there are no 'federal kidnapping charges' involved like Newsom and a few others have alleged. Just state kidnapping charges which the state, of course, won't allege because that's not politically expedient.

Just because NYC is a sanctuary city that doesn’t mean all cities in the state are.

NYC basically advertised for illegals by becoming a sanctuary city. You voted for it. Suck it up, NYC.

Have a map pointing out all the sanctuary cities, and ask the immigrants which ones they want to go to. Then give them transportation and a little food money, and drop them off.

Migrants can’t make the big bucks unless they can live in elite communities like Tribeca, SoHo, etc, and do the jobs that no one else will like wash the cars in the driveway, clean the swimming pools, etc.

This will require HUD housing to be built in these communities. And the elite say they welcome diversity and migrants, and diversity will be their strength!

Make the people who caused this problem live with the consequences of it.

” the prospect of a few hundred asylum seekers “

Well a few hundred probably wouldn’t hurt anything ... but what’s that got to do with this situation?

We are talking THOUSANDS .....

or am I confused again......?

NYC is having a problem with their patatas caliente. Load them up with Bud Light and send them to Canada so they can pour the beer on the fires. That would solve Bud Light’s sales slump, put out the Canadian fires, and get the illegals out of NYC. Win-Win-Win.

Forcing jurisdictions to accept illegals is, well, illegal.

...violating state and federal law by refusing to take in illegal immigrants...

It is an interesting phrase, isn't it?

Wouldn’t you think an illegal immigration assistance plan would be aiding and abetting a felony on each count?

So let me get this straight. You can’t block the government from sending ILLEGAL ALIENS for you to spend tax money to meet their every demand. What does the government not understand about the term ILLEGAL ALIENS?

It's Bizarro World. Nevermind that NYC is violating federal law with its sanctuary city policy.

Legal beagles, and other assorted wise guys: if Adams moves his illegals to other NY counties, would that constitute kidnapping?
