Saying gender identity is real, a federal judge temporarily blocked portions of a new Florida law that bans transgender minors from receiving puberty blockers, ruling Tuesday that the state has no rational basis for denying patients treatment.
Judge Robert Hinkle issued a preliminary injunction, saying three transgender children can continue receiving treatment. The lawsuit challenges the law Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signed shortly before he announced a run for president.
“The elephant in the room should be noted at the outset. Gender identity is real. The record makes this clear,” Hinkle said, adding that even a witness for the state agreed.
Transgender medical treatment for minors is increasingly under attack in many states and has been subject to restrictions or outright bans. But it has been available in the United States for more than a decade and is endorsed by major medical associations.

Another sick judge, wow, there sure is a bunch of pedophiles in black robes.
A lot of mental conditions are real. The question is whether you are going to allow minors to be chemically or surgically mutilated for purposes of confirming those mental conditions — sometimes without the informed consent of anyone who is competent to give it.
I didn’t know federal judges have line-item veto power over state laws.
When the individual can legally establish what is real by their own belief, then there is NO BASIS for ANY LAW!
The judge should retire.

No mention of who appointed the judge.
If it was a conservative ruling from a Trump judge, the headline would say “Trump-apoointed judge rules...”

If someone identifies as a federal judge, they can overturn state law. The only way to block this is if DeSantis starts identifying as a SC Justice.
Why does this NOT seem like something a judge should be deciding?
Federal judges have authority, if a state law somehow violates federal law or the constitution.
I don’t know what legal issues were involved in this case. But apparently, this judge decided that there is a constitutional right to cross sex hormones and surgeries for minors. Apparently it is not optional; apparently it is required that the hormone shots and cutting off this and that must happen.
So....this judge supports medical experimentation on children.
That makes him a child molester.
Same as a pedophile.
Pedophiles have no redeeming qualities.
They can’t be rehabilitated.
Kill them.
And those that support and enable them.
Including judges.
Good enough reason for Florida to secede, I think.
