Targeted weaponized boycotts work.
That’s when people discovered that they were being loyal to an inferior product.
Exactly. Many don’t step out of their comfort zone because there’s no reason to. The Bud fiasco made many aware there’s a great big world of Beer to discover. Lots of local breweries! Have at it!
I don’t think this is a boycott. People just have drawn a line through the brand ... it won’t every come back, they shot themselves fatally in the foot!
“Bud Light sales keep slipping in another ‘very weak’ week”
Down 60%! Now we’re making a significant statement.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Perhaps... but if a beer drinker picks up a Corona, Michelob, Stella or one of the other over 600 brands they carry, the rejection of BL blunted that statement a bunch.
“Molson Coors Scores an Upgrade as Bud Light Boycott Lifts Market Share”
ESG scores .... did you listen that?
I pinged you to it.
I’ts worth just running in the background and listening to while you Freep and surf.
He lays out a plan ...it’s good stuff
Dump AH Stock now; its going to the bottom.
I was thinking it would too. And it did drop to $54 but surprisingly, it’s been holding steady there (and even went up a tiny bit) for the past week. I suspect that it might continue to go sideways for a bit longer but once it is realized that the ‘creatures of habit’ have found better beer elsewhere... and they are dealing with all the beer that is past it’s ‘best before date’, the slide will continue.
The thing to watch I think is how many BL drinkers have stopped buying BL... and how many of those have switched to beers that outside of the A-B umbrella?
I’ll bet the Washington DC area and the democrat hellhole city of San Francisco have the highest Bud Light drinking rates.
The rest of the county is sick of large companies standing with sexual weirdos groups who believe it’s OK to sexually mutilate children.
Go under Busch...
All of the stores where I shop have large well constructed floor displays of BL.
All remain untouched.
One passes them and notices the stink of desperation.
Bud would be best served by putting the whole brand to sleep.
Take six months off. Then relaunch it under a new name.
If they keep trying to “bring it back”, they will simply reinforce the failure.
This debacle will be studied for decades regarding unintended consequences…and not understanding your customers.
I’m been keeping up with the ESG score-pressure the activists are putting on companies. I think they scare them with threats of institutional investors publicly selling their stock thus causing a sudden stock price slide. So, they are danged if they do, and danged if they don’t. These activists put these companies between a rock and a hard place.
If just one large retail company would stand up and say, “We will not be extorted or threatened into abandoning the principles upon which both our nation and company was founded”, they would find their stock price soar and consumers flocking to their business. But, the media convinces everyone the activists represent the majority. They do not! They are just a small minority whose voices are amplified by the media.
“stock price soar and consumers flocking to their business. “
keep an eye out for that company.
When you see it, let me know ...
I’ll go all in on their stock ... win lose or draw.
I may have not attended the Pennsylvania, "Wharton Business School," private Ivy League research university in Philadelphia.
But even this fat old 69 yr's old welder, Metal Fabricator, CAD Designer, can tell you as of this response by me, she has not been fired.
My offer of proof, when the I believe the Daily Wire caught up to her a couple of days ago, and asked her to comment, her friend had to intervene, and say: "she couldn't comment."
Now; do you think seriously she didn't want to "bad mouth" Anheuser-Busch Companies, LLC. Because she still had a great amount of love for her "former employer."
Or more likely to continue to receive her paycheck(s,){so she could keep up the payments for her 8 million dollar apartment;} she agreed to keep her fat stupid mouth shut.
My money is on: "she's still on the payroll," as of my reply here.
The other thing is, around here, Butt Wipe was a 32-suitcase 'backup beer' for the lawnscaper mojados after they exhausted the 12 of the 'good' Modelo. They would have been the first to give it up. "Que Es Muy Macho?"
They went a step too far. You could see it coming. Up to that point, that pervert Dylan had only been connecting with women's garbage like overpriced makeup and toiletries and shoes and yoga pants.
And they stepped over the line. And now men are talking again, and they are telling their wives, cancel your Target card, screw your Kohl's Bucks, forget it.
Check out the big brain on Brad!
“I’ll go all in on their stock ... win lose or draw.’
I’ll go all in on their stock as well should I find such a company. It sure would be nice to have a large big box store that had “We Support America’s Founding Principles” as their motto! I believe that was the original concept of Wal-mart. Too bad the heirs of Mr. Sam Walton abandoned those America First principles.
Wait ..... make mo money at all cost
... even at the cost of American jobs and industry
... even if it props up and supports child labor
... even if it encourages slave labor and starvation
even if it provides badly made tennis shoes.....
even if it undermines cultural cohesion in our country..
You say these are not “America's Founding Principles”
now I'm really confused ....
perhaps I HAVE had to much to think.
