EXC: DeSantis LOSES Support Post Launch, Trump Adds 13 Points in Head-to-Head.
National Pulse ^ | June 5, 2023 | RAHEEM J. KASSAM

Posted on 06/05/2023 11:08:53 AM PDT by conservative98

Ron DeSantis starts off the week with yet more bad news for his campaign, as the first Rasmussen Reports head-to-head since his glitch-ridden campaign launch shows the Florida Governor actually losing support.

A like-for-like study released by Rasmussen on Monday morning reveals DeSantis’s February 2023 numbers at 32 percent with likely Republican voters, whereas he slips to 30 percent in the latest, May poll.

And while the Florida Governor’s slippage is with Rasmussen’s three point margin of error, former President Donald Trump’s massive spike in support is definitely not. The 45th President rose a whopping 13 points in comparison to February, and since DeSantis’s campaign launch. He now stands at 58 percent, versus 45 percent just three months ago.

Amongst all likely voters – including Democrats and independents – DeSantis was actually slightly leading Trump before his announcement (30% vs 26%). In the latest poll, however, Trump has taken the lead, even increasing his appeal amongst Democrat voters. The numbers now stand at 34 percent to Trump and 33 percent to DeSantis.

Curiously, the Florida Governor’s biggest strides appear to be with self-identified liberal voters, per Rasmussen, though he still is unable to beat Joe Biden in a head-to-head in the same data set. Additionally, only around 60 percent of Trump voters say they would vote for DeSantis in a general election, raising questions over the Florida man’s ability to bring ‘MAGA’ voters into his coalition, were he to defeat Donald Trump in a primary.

The news comes after a few weeks of turmoil in Tallahassee, where DeSantis’s campaign is based. A few ago, his chief strategist Jeff Roe removed his long-time advisor Phil Cox. Since then, his surrogates have been in open online warfare against Trump supporters, to strikingly little avail.

If 60% percent, out of 100% said that they would vote for RDS in the general IF he were to be the nominee, then 40% would sit it out/vote for someone else, not as YOU claim, "60% percent favor Biden" !

That's really quite simple math.

“The only thing Team Rob Dee/DehSanctus Whiners can have hope on.....Trump somehow being kept out of the race.”

ROTFLMAO.

At the very least DeSantis is making Trump move to the right!

At least till the primaries are over.

Actually, it was a reading error as I was distracted while posting.

But still, 40% (and some here) is a big number.

Schumer is smiling.

Or Trump people will vote for Trump again and they are not answering their second choice. Trump is their first, second, third choice and so forth and so on...

Robert Cahaly from the Trafalgar Group: "One of the things we found funny is when we ask people's second choices, the Trump people always choose Trump even when we tell people you have to choose somebody other than your first choice." Video below:

Now he’s lost even 2028 support.

I was thinking him as the presumptive 2028 nominee - and voting for him.

Now, I think he will buy a wooded lot in Kennebunkport, Maine and build a home to be closer to his friends...

You left it up, even though others had repeated your statement.

Re: "Amongst all likely voters - including Democrats and Independents...Trump - 34%....DeSantis - 33%."

For the first time, I understand the intensity of Trumps attack on DeSantis.

Obviously, DeSantis goes no where without winning the GOP nomination.

But, seeing DeSantis within the margin of error for "All Likely Voters" has to rattle Trump supporters who live in Open Primary states.

Agreed, the GOPe is not always identified as an enemy but the Rats are. When the GOPe was in full controll the backstabbed Trump hard! They’re one in the same

Correct. I might even vote for Biden to deny the GOPe any sort of victory and have it dissolved.

No idea why you asked this. I carefully quoted the poll that makes it clear Trump voters won’t support him. 90% of the GOP votes for the GOP candidate in the general. That poll gives him 60%. I would be one of the 40. The Swamp must be drained and that won’t happen voting for someone the GOPe used to stop Trump.

The DoJ is not after Trump because of policy. They are after him to protect the Swamp.

It’s a little bit surprising that people cannot read what is said.

“As for supporting the nominee whoever it is, that’s laughable. Trump supporters have zero allegiance to the GOP. Why should they when it IS NOT ABOUT POLICY.”

It’s even capitalized. It’s not about policy. It’s about the Swamp. Upheaval is EVERYTHING. Create Disruption. It’s not a cult of personality. It’s rejection of the Swamp. Why is this hard to understand. If Trump is killed, physically, before he selects a VP nominee, then ANYONE, Democrat included who stands up and says Drain the Swamp gets the MAGA vote.

The Swamp is everything. It’s not the individual candidate. It’s the Swamp, beginning with the RNC and its GOPe choice of DeSantis. REJECTED.

Policy does not matter.

From the posted article...

"Among all Likely Voters, a head-to-head match up of DeSantis against President Joe Biden shows a dead heat, with each getting 44% of the vote."

Such people don’t live in reality. No one is immortal, not even Trump. To churn up such hatred for all but one candidate, although any one of them would be far better than Biden, is impractical at best and foolhardy at worst.

We can’t afford another 4 years of Biden or any other Democrat/Marxist, for that matter. Our monetary system, the farming industry, the Supreme Court and many other foundational elements of our nation are at stake.

If Trump isn’t the nominee, it will be because he’s done something so outrageous that even you wouldn’t vote for him. Then we will still have to get rid of Biden or whomever they ram into his place. MAGA is supposed to about America, not just about Trump.

A vote for anyone but Trump aligns the GOP with the SWAMP even more than it is.

Good gravy. Is Trump the second coming?

You Trump or Die FReepers are falling into the left’s trap.
