A supervising detective involved in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case against President Donald Trump has been suspended for his secret ties to Michael Cohen.
Cohen is Trump’s former attorney who turned on the 45th president in an effort to reduce his own prison sentence.
Former associates of Cohen have warned that the disgraced lawyer will do or say anything about Trump to save himself.
Jeremy Rosenberg, who investigates financial crimes for Bragg, was suspended when his relationship with Cohen was exposed, according to the New York Post.
“The office is conducting a review of an investigator’s compliance with internal office protocols,” a Bragg spokeswoman said.
Cohen’s attorney, Lanny J. Davis, said: “The interactions between Mr. Rosenberg, Michael Cohen, and myself were always professional and focused on Mr. Cohen’s personal security, which we appreciated.”
DA Bragg hit Trump with 34 felony counts in March over charges related to payments made to Stormy Daniels.
Former Manhattan prosecutor Mark Bederow said:
“It might not affect the case, but certainly from a defense standpoint, they would want to know what’s the nature of their relationship.
“What did they talk about and did this detective investigator have anything that fits the form of a disclosure to the defense.”
Alan Dershowitz said of the case against Trump:
“Nobody should ever be arrested based on made-up laws or combining a federal and state statute.
“I taught criminal law for 50 years at Harvard, and the one rule was, no creativity is permitted by prosecutors.

“The law has to be clear.
“It’s not a righteous prosecution.
“It’s not a just prosecution.
“And I think every libertarian, whether you’re conservative, or liberal, should be opposed to it.”
When it first emerged that Bragg’s case rested on testimony from Cohen, Trump’s enemies were devastated.
Anti-Trump former National Security Advisor John Bolton feared the revelation meant the case against Trump was too weak to proceed.
“Speaking as someone who very strongly does not want Donald Trump to get the Republican presidential nomination, I’m extraordinarily distressed by this document,” Bolton said.
“I think this is even weaker than I feared it would be.”
