The cause of global warming is showing no signs of slowing as heat-trapping carbon dioxide in Earth’s atmosphere increased to record highs in its annual Spring peak, jumping at one of the fastest rates on record, officials announced Monday.
Carbon dioxide levels in the air are now the highest they’ve been in more than 4 million years because of the burning of oil coal and gas. The last time the air had similar amounts was during a less hospitable hothouse Earth before human civilization took root, scientists said.
“To me as an atmospheric scientist, that trend is very concerning,” said NOAA greenhouse gas monitoring group leader Arlyn Andrews. “Not only is CO2 continuing to increase despite efforts to start reducing emissions, but it’s increasing faster than it was 10 or 20 years ago.”
Because of that “we are still dealing with CO2 in the atmosphere that was emitted in the early-to-mid 20th century,” University of Oklahoma meteorology professor Jason Furtado.
“We are absolutely at levels unseen in human civilization,” Furtado said. “Humans are running a massive experiment on the Earth climate system via burning carbon, and the results are turning out not great for a lot of people on this planet.”

Many of the record high temps here in Los Angeles for days in April, May, and early June occurred in the 1880’s and 1890’s.
This year so far has been very cool. High temperatures on many days ten or more degrees below normal.
It’s called weather and it changes all the time.
Agreed. Everything anybody needs to know about our "unprecedented" global warming needs to look at this chart:
That's just a outrageous lie!
4 million years ago, right before South America joined North America, and the Tethys Sea still existed (Med to Persian Gulf). Closing both straits led to the end of the global circumnavigating Pacific to Atlantic tropical current.
Earth 4.5 Million years ago:
Greenland was partially forested, even the shores of Antarctica had praireis and trees, and Australia was well watered, cool, and lushly green.
This time period was called the Neogene. The global climate became more seasonal and continued an overall drying and cooling trend which began at the start of the Paleogene. During the Early Miocene, mid-latitude seawater and continental thermal gradients were already very similar to those of the present. The ice caps on both poles began to grow and thicken, a process enhanced by positive feedbacks from increased formation of sea ice, and by the end of the period the first of a series of glaciations of the current Ice Age began.
Some hothouse!

I find this site entertaining.

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument
Perhaps the NOAA will be the first politically correct global warming alarmist to explain why explain why greenhouse gasses like methane and CO2 fail to hold the heat down under the shadow of a midday solar eclipse of an otherwise warm sunny day.
Also, is it any surprise that nighttime temperatures typically keep dropping in various places until shortly after sunrise?
So-called "global warming" alarmism amounts to corrupt government leaders working in cahoots with likewise corrupt CEOs to abuse government power by forcing citizens to buy, through unconstitutional, unaccountable federal taxing and spending, junk science products as remedies for government-industrial-manufactured crises imo.
I’d like to see the temperature records from 4 million years ago. We live in such a world of lies now.
What’s interesting, when I lived in Kentucky I found lots of coral fossils on our property. Seems to me it was warmer there at one time since we don’t have coral thriving in the creeks or rivers now.
Other than the local kudzu, I don't see massive increases in plant growth.
“ Carbon dioxide levels in the air are now the highest they’ve been in more than 4 million years because of the burning of oil coal and gas. The last time the air had similar amounts was during a less hospitable hothouse Earth before human civilization took root, scientists said.”
Yo scientists! Ain’t the world older than 4 million years? Why was the air warmer then?
I marvel that there are persons out there so willing to attach their names to utter BS and make it public.
No surprise here. On Jan 15, 2022 the Tonga Volcano pumped 58 Billion tons of Gas and Ash into the ahetmosphere and there was another eruption on Hilo, the big island of Hawaii. None of the Climate Changers ever mention the obvious impact just these two eruptions are having on the Earth’s atmosphere. Face it, the Earth is an ever changing planet and gaseous chemicals in our atmosphere will always be constantly changing. It has been changing for 4.5 billions years, obviously for the better or the human race would not be here.
BRING BACK PANGEA! 😁👍
Pretty sure he got soda up his nose.
Moron Marxists.
Seth Borenstein - the Chicken Little of “climate change”.
They think a benign trace atmospheric gas that feeds plant life is dangerous.
“Don’t mess with mother nature. And, we ain’t in control either.”
Are you trying to say you believe this nonsense?
carbon dioxide makes up to only 0.04% of the atmosphere. So now it’s 0.05! Oh no, run…..
And Canadian forrest fires
