White men seeking to join the Royal Air Force were described as "useless white male pilots" in leaked emails that expose the pressure placed on recruitment officers to improve diversity.
A number of selection boards to place new recruits on courses - a crucial part of maintaining the fighting strength of the RAF - were also cancelled if they did not include women or ethnic minorities, according to the messages, which have been seen by Sky News.
It can also be revealed the air force is paying £5,000 each to 31 white men - a total of £155,000 - who it found had been unfairly disadvantaged by a recruitment policy that - under the leadership of Air Chief Marshal Sir Mike Wigston, the head of the RAF - sought to boost female and ethnic minority ratios in the air force, according to a defence source.
[snip]Under a subject line entitled: "BOARDING PROFILE", the squadron leader wrote: "I would be grateful if you could provide me with a breakdown of the candidates awaiting boarding, by Branch and BAME [black, Asian and minority ethnic]/Female."
He continued: "I noted that the boards have recently been predominantly white male heavy, if we don't have enough BAME and female to board then we need to make the decision to pause boarding and seek more BAME and female from the RF [recruitment force].
"I don't really need to see loads of useless white male pilots, lets get a focussed as possible, I am more than happy to reduce boarding if needed to have a balanced BAME/female/Male board."
[snip]An informed source alleged that efforts were made around that time to fast-track ethnic minority and female recruits into RAF Halton in Buckinghamshire without previously passing a fitness test. Instead they could take the test on their first day.

I gotta hand it to the UK powers that be: they really know how to piss on their own subjects, as well as destroy anything opposed to their self-interests... all while maintaining the best decorum and sham platitudes about fair play and noblesse oblige.
What is the point of diversity quotas for pilots? Are the RAF turning away black and female candidates saying “sorry, no more pilot slots are available”?
Unless and until they are turning away black and female candidates due to a lack of available positions, there should not be any quota system.

Winston Churchill - his observation of the Battle of Britain....what would those “few” say about all this...? it was overwhelmingly white males in the RAF who fought the Luftwaffe and saved Britain from German invasion....they are probably rolling over in their graves right now.....

You can’t look at anything thing British these days and not feel that you’re looking at Africa or Asia. Except a documentary I saw on how the Mini Cooper is assembled (a pretty interesting story). In the entire thing there was a maybe one or two fleeting glimpses of minority types in the background. I couldn’t believe that a modern director or production crew or a company like Mini would ever allow this. It was the whitest thing I’ve seen in a generation or two. James May was the presenter.
