The woke ‘Little Mermaid’ reboot completely bombed in reviews this weekend.
Disney’s live-action take on The Little Mermaid reportedly brought in $95.5 million globally in its three-day opening, according to Deadline.
However, the woke movie completely bombed in reviews – the bulk of the negative reviews were from overseas movie goers.
Critics blamed murky lighting and woke lyrics.
IMBD, Rotten Tomatoes and other online review-aggregation websites claimed online trolls are driving the bad reviews.
The bad reviews were actually tossed out in order to raise the final audience scores!
For example, IMBD said it published the “weighted vote averages” because not all votes are the same.
IMBD said: “Our rating mechanism has detected unusual voting activity on this title. To preserve the reliability of our rating system, an alternate weighting calculation has been applied.”

The Disney release is on track to debut to a massive $118 million over the four-day holiday, with $96 million of that coming over the three-day frame. It ranks as the fifth highest Memorial Day opening in history.
They have to ruin everything that was good. That is their only motivation.

Just like YouTube eliminated counting negative votes for videos, because everybody was voting down BiteMe’s videos.

That would have been even better.
I think the point is “Rotten” has rotted. What we’re seeing isn’t real. Last time I looked, total audience score was 50% versus 95% from their preferred audience.
Another reviewer said blacks currently make up 33% of the audience. The question becomes if they will continue to push it, similar to Black Panther.
My guess is it will do OK. Most little girls and many of their moms aren’t going to care about woke.
But does it have “legs”? And will overseas audiences watch? That is what we’ll find out over the next couple of months.

Who knew there were enough mermaid movies to comprise a “top ten” list?
Not me, I’m proud to say I never saw any of them.
Yeah, “online trolls” gave the bad reviews. The same trolls that gave “Nefarious” great reviews despite the woke critics. IMDB and RT are corrupt and IMDB is worse with those crap “weighted” ratings.

Were they Russian? They were able to swing the Presidential elections in favor of Trump for like a $100k.
Bet it drops off bigtime next week as word of mouth gets around.
Nothing has “legs” any more, they release too many movies. Over the next 2 months Disney has 4 major releases coming. Score big, score fast, and get out of the way. That’s the model now. And that’s what it’s on path for. It scored big and fast.
