I think the point is “Rotten” has rotted. What we’re seeing isn’t real. Last time I looked, total audience score was 50% versus 95% from their preferred audience.
Another reviewer said blacks currently make up 33% of the audience. The question becomes if they will continue to push it, similar to Black Panther.
My guess is it will do OK. Most little girls and many of their moms aren’t going to care about woke.
But does it have “legs”? And will overseas audiences watch? That is what we’ll find out over the next couple of months.
Nothing has “legs” any more, they release too many movies. Over the next 2 months Disney has 4 major releases coming. Score big, score fast, and get out of the way. That’s the model now. And that’s what it’s on path for. It scored big and fast.
