Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is calling on Senate colleagues, including conservative members of his conference, not to drag out the consideration of the debt-limit deal, which could be delayed past the June 5 deadline if senators use every procedural tool available to slow it down.
McConnell applauded Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) for winning significant concessions from President Biden, including a cut in non-defense discretionary spending, a recission in funding for the Internal Revenue Service, new work requirements for federal assistance programs and permitting reform for major energy projects.

It’s a Big Club and YOU ain’t in it.

Don’t delay - slay!
I read a little bit ago, up to 60 house members are voting no
That’s not enough by a long shot.
I noticed there’s been no word from Marjorie Taylor Greene,a now McCarthy backer.
BIDEN'S $6 TRILLION BUDGETS AREN'T BIG ENOUGH?!
This is what we’ve been saying for decades.
Republicans (the leadership) are the same, they just want to get there slower.
Who?
McConnell and McCarthy are two peas in a pod. They were installed for a reason.
There aren’t that many real Conservatives in the Senate Mitch, and you ain’t one of them.
The uniparty is bankrupting this country.
This POS is my senator and is largely responsible for why I left the worthless do nothing GOP after 35 years.
Mitch likes being in the minority because it gives him an excuse for not accomplishing much of anything.
That is how I see it.
Shut down the government that shut down the country.
And don’t reimburse employees for their new found “vacation” like usually happens.
All the business shut down and people fired for not getting the vax get no recompense, nor should the government.
Just like w/the TARP, the heightened spending becomes the new baseline for subsequent years.
I was on the fence
Tat is the kiss of death
Uniparty all the way
Yep. That means it IS totally destructive. He almost never does what is right.
Now we know itβs a bad deal.
Please tell why itβs a bad deal. Is it because there are only incremental victories?
The big problem is know one cares.
I don’t think 75% of the population knows what a trillion is.
What a profile of courage! Yup, if he is in, conservatives are getting a screwing!
Show of hands: Does anybody really believe that, if the GOP were to win the House, Senate, and Oval Office, the budget would actually be cut?
Not just "frozen", not just a reduction in the percentage of YoY growth. Actual reductions in spending.
