Kamala Harris brushes off Afghanistan failures in West Point speech
NY Post ^ | May 27, 2023 | Jon Levine and Mary Kay Linge

The vice president did not mention Afghanistan in the five words she devoted to the topic.

But she took the time to warn the cadets that “an accelerating climate crisis” is one of the “biggest challenges the military will face during their careers.”

Afghanistan was swiftly reconquered by the Taliban after the United States withdrew in 2021, ending a 20-year campaign.

The House Oversight Committee is currently investigating the debacle.

Good grief, they actually let that ignorant slut speak at West Point? Even though it (along with all the academies) has been crapped upon and totally slimed by DEI putrescence, it’s still far, FAR superior to any collection of liberal slime.

Hopefully, it can be disinfected before it attempts recovery from liberal idiocy.

They’re to obey orders, not question them.

What I expected: “Afghanistan is old history that no one cares about. What is important is how climate change has put the Empire State Building under water and drowned mostly queers and transsexuals. It is all Trumps fault.”

“Our military is a force which underwrites global stability," Harris said.

Any orders which promote global government should be questioned.

Afghanistan was lost when the US embassy in Kabul flew the gay flag in June 2021. The gesture was a diplomatic disaster. Finally, Afghans had a cause they could unite behind.

They're to obey lawful orders. There were a few times my Jesuit education got me in some hot water. My Trump card was that I never had any intention of making the Army a career.

Back in those days (76-84), all it took was a crappy rating report to end a career. The standard deviation between my outstanding reviews and my negative reviews was off the charts.

There were consequences to the officers who wrote the bad ones. On the first one, the Group Commander made his own comments (an unusual occurrence), blasting the review of the Battery Commander and Battalion Commander. On the second one, I protested it. The resulting investigation ended my boss' chance for selection to the Army War College. Didn't change the evaluation, but I had already submitted my resignation.

I admit to being a PITA much of the time, but it didn't stop my last battalion commander in Germany from offering me the chance to work for him again at Fort Bliss. My "reputation" preceded me, thanks to the Old Man. He valued imagination and intelligence from his officers, which is why I thrived under his leadership.

I would not have lasted long working for Kamala or Brandon.

Ben, IIRC, there is nothing in the UCMJ, Leader's Handbook, or the Constitution that promotes global government.

The officer I aspired to be was Sam Damon, from Once an Eagle. I never reached his level, but it was a good model to follow.

How demoralizing to have this cackling harpy speak at your West Point graduation.

I feel sorry for these cadets. They will fight and die for a destroyed America.

I wonder how many of those cadets are now infiltrators, like the Bolsheviks infiltrated the Russian Army in the years leading up to The Revolution?

Thank you for your service, and for being a PITA. I wasn’t in the military, but I did wear a uniform for 25 years, and was labeled the same by Administrators. My reputation among the people I supervised was high, and that was all I cared about.

Thank you for your service!

Without going into detail, I experienced much the same treatment in the late 1960s - early 70s as a Regular Naval Officer.

I am VERY fortunate to be a retired O-6 USNR Aviator, but I KNOW I would not volunteer to serve in today’s CRAZY environment!

Someone needs to do some REALLY serious name-taking and ass-kicking to get the DoD back in line!

IOW, re-elect Donald J. Trump!
