The governor's state political committee, Friends of Ron DeSantis, had at least $86 million in the bank at the end of April.
Federal Election Commission rules state that “a candidate’s authorized (federal) committee may not accept funds or assets transferred from a committee established by the same candidate for a nonfederal election campaign.”
But DeSantis' political operation will direct that money to his supportive super PAC thanks to a gray area of federal campaign finance law.
It's even possible that a transfer has already taken place, but it would not be made public until the end of the month under state campaign disclosure laws.

In other words, perfectly legal
What is occured is
You (as an example) form a pac, and get millions in campaign donations to run a state office.
You now have 10's of millions left over in the pac.
You file paperwork that says you're not supported by the pac anymore, and have no communications with it.
You then say you're running for a federal office.
The pac now magically funds your campaign by giving those millions into a federal pac.
The money is the same money, so it should be illegal. The FEC, being 3 Rep and 3 Dem, deadlocked along party lines on the donalds case, so there is no clear ruling that it is illegal.
Yeah, it is always important to look at the drop-down boxes in any Trump-generated fundraising email—especially the $99 to Trump and the $1 to the candidate or cause on whose behalf he’s supposedly fundraising
I believe Republicans shouldn’t trash other Republicans.
This includes Trump. If they are Rino’s, that’s different, but DeSantis is far from being a Rino. I also believe a good mix of candidates is a good thing. I like Tim Scott too, and Vivek. They all have good ideas. But the backstabbing has to stop. It helps no one. I’ll vote for the Republican who wins. That should be good enough for you. NBC, ABC,CBS, CNN, MSNBC,and even Fox are biased and their facts should be investigated.
Problem is, over the years, there has been a concerted effort by liberals to infiltrate the Republican Party.
“—Wish I could tell him to stop wasting it on us. —We’re solid Trump supporters here.”
Speak for yourself. Some of us are actually conservatives.
Nailed it !!
Trump was so obviously broke at the end of 2020 campaign. They weren’t running any ads at all to counter the carpet bombing from Dems. Then the Trump campaign slapped together a hilariously cheap GOTV ad right before election day and ran it. It was just Trump standing and talking in front of his family at Mar-a-Lago. Should Trump win the primary I have no doubt he will be massively outspent again.
As with many of the desantis supporters/likely nevertrumpers, they use a variety of tactics, trying to prop up desantis.
One of with is some variant of "I'm a Trump supporter, but", 'republicans should get along, and not attack each other, but attack biden', "can't we get along", kum-ba-ya. b.s. to gain empathy from Trump supporters, then try to turn then to desantis.
But they don't hesitate to attack Trump and his supporters.
Don't get taken by fake tactics.
Ron looks like he should stand in front of a huge Please Like Me Sign.
I don’t care what you are, but I’ll be happy when he stops sending me his crap.
Anyone who thinks that needs to recalibrate their viewpoint or find another hobby.
Think, man, think!
Amen. Well, at least it’s not a vanity. They have resorted to vanities to demonize and lie about DeSantis.
Re: 1 - Like was posted earlier, what you post seems slam dunk. Contact the FEC and let them know.
I know how PACs work. It is not illegal, as even NBC states. And all your over-explaining won’t make it so.
He is being used by the GOPe.
Most federal election laws are there to prevent republicans from raising money. I’d try to violate all of them as well.
use amex then dispute the charges. works every thime.
Good morning, old friend.
Did you happen to see or hear about the DeSantis interview on NewsMax last night?
He said he hasn’t spoken to Paul Ryan since he became Governor (2018) and had only ever met Karl Rove once in his life, and neither are involved in his campaign in any way.

Not saying that’s the end of the discussion, but is some info you might be interested in, especially since Rove was last seen working for Trump in 2020, after all. Thanks.
“neither are involved in his campaign in any way.”
You mean, “neither IS involved”, right?
Anyhow, neither Rove nor Ryan may not be directly involved. But who is the middle-man — or who are they middle-men?
