Three years after George Floyd was murdered by police in Minneapolis at the age of 46, Black Americans are still more than twice as likely to be killed by police as white Americans.
Much has changed since Floyd’s killing, but that startling statistic from the database Mapping Police Violence underscores how much hasn’t changed all the same.
Floyd’s death led to mass protests across the country and the world, and it awakened much of the country to how much change is necessary to take real strides toward racial equality and justice.
Lawmakers who have pushed for change note that despite all that attention, violence is carried out against Black people by police on a regular basis.

Twice as likely per crime?
Here’s what’s changed since George Floyd’s murder three years ago
————————————————————
I could tell right away this was fake news. Floyd wasn’t murdered.
And even more Yellow Journalism
George Floyd died from an overdose of FENTANYL while resisting arrest
Cities now have two warning signs for passersby; a George Floyd memorial in addition to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The government’s own crime statistics say otherwise.
Three years after George Floyd ODed. Fixed it.
Only twice as likely? That’s nothing compared to their likelihood of committing the crime in the first place.
I congratulate George Floyd for now being drug free for three years.
Keep it up, George, we’re with you!
Agenda much, Cheyanne?
Floyd died of a drug overdose and pretending otherwise does nothing to make black person’s life any better.
A small criminal underclass who happen to be black commit a LOT of crimes ... which makes them prone to encounters with the police.
“Three years after George Floyd was murdered by police in Minneapolis”
Murdered or died of drug overdose. Not excusing cop that refused to get off after he blacked out but was that really the cause of death?
Cause of death is not an exact science, think Covid.
No, he wasn't.
Lost me in the first sentence.
So, people haven’t learned to obey the commands of police officers yet. Got it.
What’s changed? All of this crap grew out of Floyd…
* Ten months of rioting, $2 billion property damage, 35 dead, thousands of arrests and all released
* Cities turned to shitholes after police defunded
* Inner city residents scared for their lives after the resulting epidemic of violence
* $100 billion annual retail shoplifting at all time record highs
* Major retailers fleeing cities
* Record high rates of blacks killing blacks
* BLM shakedown of businesses upwards of $80 billion
* Asians scared to death to walk on the streets where blacks roam
* Radicals feel free to burn police precincts and courthouses with impunity
* Federal government weaponized against ordinary citizens
* J6 political prisoners held for YEARS.
* Race relations at all-time lows
* University “professors” calling for open season on white people
* A military that counted on patriotic young white men from long-line military families to fill their ranks now tells those same young men they are racist and not welcome.
Plus lots, lots more. Please add the changes you’ve seen to the list.
Good news, George has been clean and sober three years now.
