Ending months of speculation, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis declared his presidential candidacy Wednesday, setting up a seismic clash with former President Donald Trump for GOP supremacy.

His career is over.
After the steal to do this is complicity.
He was great, seemingly. Now he does this.
I will never vote for or support Ron Desantis ever again.
I was firmly opposed to Donald Trump in the 2016 primaries. I voted for him against Hillary, of course, and was hoping for the best. Within a year, Trump had firmly won me over. I found his personality grating at times but his policies were solid.
Trump's politics have evolved over the years in the right direction. I don't know how early in the Obama Administration, he gave that donation but I'm sure he wouldn't do it now. His position on abortion changed too and his nomination of Justices seem to confirm the sincerity of his conversion.
May the best man win.
LOL! He just outed himself out to John Stossel, saying he falsely used his support for Trump’s border wall to get himself elected Governor. That ad with him and his child, he said was “satire.”
The money came through Trump’s own foundation, not directly from Trump.
The Clinton Foundation lists Donald J. Trump as a contributor with a cumulative lifetime donation amount between $100,001 to $250,000. It’s not clear if Trump himself made a personal contribution, but tax forms show that the Donald J. Trump Foundation donated $100,000 to the foundation in 2009 and reserved a table at the Clinton Foundation gala for $10,000 in 2010.
Altogether, the Trump Foundation has donated $5.5 million to 298 charities between 2009 and 2013 according to the nonprofit’s tax forms
“I did give to the Clinton Foundation. What I didn’t know is they’d be using it for private aircraft and things like that. The Clinton Foundation was helping with Haiti and with lots of other things and I thought it was going to do some good work. So, it didn’t make any difference to me,” he said on Jan. 31’s Fox News Sunday. “Again, I was a businessman and it was my obligation to get along with everybody, including the Clintons, including Democrats and liberals and Republicans and conservatives.”
All hehasbeen doing is attacking from the left.
Trump did exactly that, when Jeb Bush was sitting high in all the polls back in 2016. Trump has moved the Republican base to the left since then, but with his support of gay marriage etc at a time that social issues are becoming urgent, he may be left behind, over towards the left, as the party moves back to the right.
Trump should stop attacking from the left, and siding with groomer Disney. The Deep State is marxist.
At this point the odds are that Trump will be the Republican nominee in 2024. If he loses, he’ll run again in 2028. So DeSantis would have to wait until 2032. But if Trump wins in 2024, or loses but doesn’t try again, I doubt DeSantis will be the nominee in 2028. Too many Trump supporters will still be mad at him for running this time.
Trump attacked from the RIGHT IN 2016. . Now he is attacking from the LEFT. It is his judgement that I question.
Never in the history of politics has a politician run a satirical TV ad, then let it stand for five years before explaining it when challenged.
100% lie and a 100% weasel move.
My comment was sarcasm.
Yeah. Screw those Ivy Leaugers.
They all suck. Wait. Didn’t Donald Trump go to an Ivy League school?
Well that’s different. Yeah.
i’m not a betting man, but i WILL bookmark your post for review in 30 days ...
According to opensecrets.org Disney was in the top 5 contributors to Trump in both 2016 and 2020…
There is only one way that DeSantis has any chance. And that is if the corrupt justice system takes out Trump. And DeSantis is counting on that. His handlers have assured him that as many of them are behind the effort. DeSantis is the guy who thinks that there is no significant vote fraud. Since vote fraud is the end of us then Ron won’t do. Needless to say he is teaming up with deepstaters which tells me he is just more of the same. I got hoodwinked with the Bush’s and I won’t make that mistake again.
If he was backed by Soros and Hillary, you’d say we were wrong to not back him?
Or, if he supported gay weddings at his residence, or was against abortion bans, or supported Disney grooming ... oh wait...
I just don’t get it. Why are only Trumpers so fearful and afraid of Ron DeSantis?
If he is a Bush-bot, tied to the deep state and has no chance of winning, then why the incessant attacks and insults?
