This week’s Liberal Media Scream shows exactly the difference between small-government conservatives and big-government liberals.
Imagine wanting 87,000 more Internal Revenue Service agents. Well, that’s not only what NBC Meet the Press host Chuck Todd said, but he sneered at those who don’t want them as likely tax cheats.
On his Sunday show, he took on the GOP plan to roll back the Biden administration’s request and said, “I have never understood the resistance of extra IRA agents — unless you knowingly cheat on your taxes.” His guest, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), replied, “That’s salacious and you know that.”
Donalds said that “when you have that many more agents, it’s not to go after the rich. It’s to go after the middle class.” Todd stood by his view that the honest have nothing to fear from more enforcement. “So if you’re paying what you are supposed to pay, then you should have nothing to fear,” he said.
The exchange on Sunday’s Meet the Press:
CHUCK TODD: But there’s one more thing House Republicans are asking for, which is they want fewer IRS agents. They want fewer attempts to try to properly get tax receipts into the federal government’s coffers. I have never understood the resistance of extra IRS agents — unless you knowingly cheat on your taxes.
REP. BYRON DONALDS: First of all, that’s salacious and you know that. Most Americans, by far, pay their taxes, and they do it honorably. What House Republicans, and frankly the Republican Party, is concerned about is having IRS agents go after middle-class families and small business owners. When you have that many more agents, it’s not to go after the rich. It’s to go after the middle class. That’s what it's for.

This is so awful. Guess who will be most negatively affected among the innocent? Those who do not have a lot of money to pay accountants, etc., to sort out what happened on their tax return 4 years before.
So if anyone opposes the Covid jab they are anti-science to Chuck Todd?
If you are upset with Biden securing Ukraine’s borders but not America’s that means you’re pro-Putin to Chuck Todd?
Or if you were opposed to the War in Iraq that meant you were pro-Saddam?
Arming accountants and giving them a badge. Didn’t they do that in ‘The Untouchables’?
And only criminals want to defund the police.
Lois Lerner is an expert on this topic.
Why didn’t Chuck Todd have her on the panel for this discussion?
Himmler said something very similar about the SS.
The solution is straightforward - just eliminate the loopholes, and make it simple. Just go with a sales tax (so everyone pays something - and everyone is reminded what they are paying to the government whenever they buy something), or go with a flat tax. Then we could also cut down the IRS to a tiny size.
But this is all musings. The Feds want a complicated tax code, and loopholes that they can give to their donation paying friends. And they want another group (along with the FBI, ATF, etc) to terrorize the American people. Congress will never do something for the citizens to simplify the tax code. But they'll be happy to add more Brownshirts to the State.
Right. And only speeders oppose more cops with radars.
Also, you know who else doesn’t like them? People who do not want an extra 1600 IRS agents per state? People who don’t want to waste a few extra days prepping and enjoying an audit?
What a tool.
What it really comes down to is the Democrats look at the IRS as another institution that can be used to attack conservatives.
So I was told anyhows.
Unfortunately, rather than going after All Capone, they are going after easy targets.
Yep! The wealthy have firms to handle this. The ones who can’t afford a high priced lawyer will get hosed. With the IRS it’s guilty until proven innocent.
FUCT!
.
Chuck Todd. College drop-out moron.
Only people with something to hide oppose illegal search and seizure.
Sorry Chump, er, I mean Chuck, I own nothing, have no assets, no stocks, bonds, no savings, nothing. I fill out the short form every year, claim the standard deduction, have no dependents. I don’t think there’s a necessity for hiring more IRS agents, especially since the ones already on the job, don’t seem to be able to do the job honestly, adequately, or efficiently.
How about starting with just 1,000 new agents?
How about a tax credit of 1% of the tax paid before the audit if audited by the IRS?
If Mr. T paid $20 million to the IRS for the year to be audited, then Mr. T would get $200,000 if audited for that tax year. If Mr. T underpaid by $5,000, then Mr. T would get only $195,000.
