A transgender athlete took home a second-place medal in a crucial high school track and field competition in California over the weekend, sparking fierce backlash — as the fourth-place medalist appeared to give a thumbs-down at the podium.
Athena Ryan, a junior from Sonoma Academy, claimed the silver medal in the varsity girls’ 1,600-meter run during the North Coast Meet of Champions of California finals on Saturday.
Ryan, a transgender female, now qualifies for the California Interscholastic Federation State Track & Field Championships next week after finishing in the top three.
The high school track star who claimed fourth place — losing a shot to compete at the state championships — appeared to give a thumbs-down to spectators during the podium placement ceremony in Dublin, California.

If ‘he’ wants to compete in girl’s sports it has to be more than cheap makeup and boobs.
If he want’s to compete in girls’ sports, he can pound sand.
What we have here is a failure of adults to be adult. The adults in the room failed to tell him to bugger off back to the boys’ competition where he belongs (if he can make the cut).
Aeons ago, I was a competitive distance runner. I know well what it’s like to be in the middle of the pack among the boys/men of my age. And to at the same time be ‘way ahead of most of the girls/women my age.
It’s OK. I didn’t earn any medals ... I did finish and earn the swag that comes with it. This creep isn’t content to have what he earns ... he wants to cheat. The adults’ job is to tell him NO.

No male transgender or cross dresser ever won a girls/women’s sporting event period.
You can’t fake fake deal with it what next it’ll be a who can write their name in the snow with piss contest.
When are women athletes of all ages and in all sports going to speak up about this madness?
The gals can ‘thumb-down’ all they want, but the MOMENT they try to compete against the guys, they’ve lost.

By law colleges have to give as many athletic scholarships to women as men. And there are 85 for football so thats a lot of women’s track and lacrosse. What the tyranny has done is eliminate some young woman’s chance at a scholarship.

Yep. Her mom yelled from afar asking if she was ok. She gave her mama a thumbs down. You’re right though. She’s fourth and he’s second. Ushed her out of states. That’s ok though. We just gained another patriot family.

The TOP THREE would go to the state FINALS! This GUY took away the gal’s #3 finish. She’s done, and HE moves on.
