A top GOP donor who previously backed Donald Trump has announced that he will be supporting Ron DeSantis in the 2024 Election.
Hal Lambert, founder and CEO of Texas-based Point Bridge Capital, said he wants to "do a lot to help DeSantis win" amid strong speculation the Florida governor will confirm his presidential campaign in the coming days.
Lambert, who set up an exchange-traded fund named after the former president's Make America Great Again 2016 campaign slogan, MAGA ETF, and previously served on Trump's inaugural committee in 2016, told the New York Post that he decided to back DeSantis after meeting with him and wife in Florida three weeks ago.
Lambert said he was also put off by Trump's recent CNN town hall, where the former president continued to falsely claim the 2020 Election was "rigged."
"What voters who didn't vote for Trump in 2020 are going to vote for him this time based on his performance? I don't think anyone will," Lambert told The Post. "We can't talk about things from four years ago that can't be changed.
"Trump is going to have a difficult time winning the general election. The election won't be about Joe Biden's bad record. It will be a referendum on Trump instead."
It is reported that DeSantis will file paperwork declaring his presidential candidacy on May 25 to coincide with a donor meeting in Miami, before a formal announcement a few days later.

He's like an old uncle who always speaks his mind (and often insults folks when he does). He's an original article.
One either has to accept him as he is or reject him...but he isn't going to change.
That said, he accomplished almost everything he promised in his last term.
Like most NYers, I have watched Trump since he appeared on the scene back in the 1970's. He is results-oriented but he also loves to tease the press (and the press hates him for this).
I would support Trump or DeSantis in 2024. But whatever we may say about Trump, he's a juggernaut and will be hard to stop.
And this time, he's ready for the shenanigans the Left is going to pull (I hope).

Biden is President
Can’t name my source BUT this happened, during Tiffany Trumps wedding weekend at Mar-a-Lago, three days before Trump announced. Good friends of Trump, mega donors, political allies who attended the wedding had a back room meeting with Trump. They advised him to move on, he did a great job as President but his time was up, move on, you can not win the general in 2024. They told him NOT to run, if he did, they would NOT support him. His response was “the people love me, THEY will support me”.
Trump was powerless in 2020 to stop the states from introducing cheat-by-mail-in ballots. That was the responsibility of the legislatures, and those controlled by RINOs were fine and dandy with it because it was the only way to beat Trump.
Fast forward to 2022, and we saw how nothing had changed regarding the cheat-by-mail-ins. They were used to stop MAGA candidates. Just look at what happened to Kari Lake and what her trial has revealed about hundreds of thousands of mail-ins that were rubber stamped by election workers without checking the signature on file.
If these cheat-by-mail-ins are still in use in 2024, Trump will lose, and there is nothing he can do about that.
The only entities that could get rid of cheat-by-mail-ins would be the state legislatures, or maybe SCOTUS, if Kari Lake's case could make it that far (I have no confidence in the Democrat hack judge that is hearing her case now).

If he had the kind of support that the DeSantis crowd seems to think he has, folks would be hanging down the doors.
Time will tell what people really think. Will his declaration for candidacy skyrocket him in the polls? We shall see.
There was an earlier article about Pres Trump attending the Georgia GOP convention. Kemp is not going. Odd.
But a company called Landmark Communication did a poll and Pres Trump was up 8pts on DeSantis. Landmark is a fraud conservative outlet that disguises democrats to get elected as republicans and DeSantis is still losing. Odd.

Wrong. DeSantis is far from a Jeb Bush. Several of my family members are big time donors to the Dims. All of them are afraid of DeSantis and want Trump to win because they know that the Dim legal shenanigans will ultimately bring Trump down.
Back in the day, a couple of them even said that they would be able to tolerate a Jeb presidency, if a Republican were to win. ALL of them are spending lots of money against DeSantis. He’s no Bush.
I am sure that it did not happen they way they wrote the story. They are liars and not to be believed. They will take a limited number of facts and distort them to what they want to report. Check back in a week or two, and I predict that the facts will have changed. My default is “DO NOT BELIEVE THEM”, and then if interested and have the time, you can go to better sources to get at the truth. It ain’t worth it to me.
