Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is debuting to worse reviews than Indiana Jones and the Kindom of the Crystal This Movie Supersucks.
How is it physically and scientifically possible to make a movie worse than Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal This Movie Supersucks?
Ooh, I know. Ooh, ooh, I know!
You hire Kathleen Kennedy to produce it.
Things looked pretty good for Indy 5 when director James Mangold was brought on to bid Indiana Jones a fond farewell. Mangold’s farewell to Wolverine with Logan (2017) is a thing of beauty, my favorite X-Men movie.
And I wasn’t too worried that Harrison Ford is 80 years old. He’s still fit and virile, still every inch a leading man. That can work...

Makes sense. He was 39 in the first Indiana Jones movie. Now he's 80.
Hollywood needs to make original movies. But that's too risky. So they're happy with prequels, sequels and remakes even if they suck. Because they're known brands and people will buy tickets to watch the crappy movies.
Got ya.
Now that “Short Round” has a Oscar, he should take over the franchise. They don’t have to call him Indiana Jones. He could start off dragging Harrison Ford, now comic relief, around.
Someone named Sean Patrick Flanery, who played Young Indy on TV, is probably available. River Phoenix, who played Young Indy in the movies, isn’t (and his brother wouldn’t work either).
I haven’t been to a movie theater in over 25 years. Could care less. I do have discs of some good ones though. Kelly’s’ Heroes, Tremors 1-5, Dirty Dozen, Paint Your Wagon, Dr. Strangelove. Quite few comedies, Trading Places, Office Space, My Cousin Vinny, Caddyshack, Animal House & one of my all time favs, How To Murder Your Wife with Jack Lemmon. Stuff from the olden days.
Mr. Calista Flockhart
I agree. Hollywood isn’t creative anymore.
We need to punish them for making crappy movies. But you will still see couples going to the theater for date nights. Families will continue to drop off their kids to the theater on weekends. That's the cash cow for the studios.
My science fiction mind believes that when quantum computing and AI get married, trillions of songs, movie scripts, plays, and TV scripts will be produced in seconds.
It helps that he and his agent/manager pick good scripts. His Sci Fi movies are actually good. (vs Star Trek/Star Wars which are just space operas)
You'll have your own massive Steely Dan music collection. You will be able to hear new and consecutive Steely Dan songs forever with no replays!
The plan is to turn Indiana Jones into another Kathleen Kennedy feminist franchise with a Mary Sue hero(not heroine)who does everything better than Indy ever could, while turning him into a worthless POS.
Logan stunk on ice. The point of Hero movies is to not watch them die of old age.
I agree. I recently watched “Minority Report” which I enjoyed.
I agree. Tom Cruise wasn’t the physical manifestation of the several excellent books, but he carried the role of Jack Reacher and clearly demonstrated he is a truly fine actor.
I’m looking forward to the Critical Drinker’s review. I suspect it will be far more entertaining than the movie itself.
Harrison Ford looks like a ancient artifact.
How many decent franchises has Disney destroyed?
“He belongs in a museum” to paraphrase a line from the Last Crusade.
