Shocking dashcam video shows South Carolina deputies getting into a shootout with a man who jumped out of a car and began firing after getting pulled over earlier this month.
The dangerous gun battle began when deputies pulled the black Ford over along a highway. A second deputy had arrived on the scene to provide backup when he realized that the man in the passenger seat had a gun.
That's when the passenger jumped out and began the shootout.
Video shows the wild gun fight as one deputy is hit and another fires across the driver's seat, where the driver was sitting, and fired at the passenger.
The driver can then be seen getting out of the car looking startled.
The passenger died at the scene and the driver was detained.
One of the deputies was shot three times, but is expected to recover.

I just knew it was a chunky white woman in the car.
Damn. Missed that. Sorry to see it. POS came out shooting.
Saw the whole video (27 minutes). Good to see that the punk took the dirt nap.
Donโt invite Alec Baldwin to your next safe gun battle!
She was transporting an armed felon. That makes her an accessory to whatever crime the felon committed. Shooting police officers definitely is a felony crime committed by her passenger, and it was all captured on video, so the events are "beyond reasonable doubt".
Under the felony murder rule, she could be prosecuted.
She probably won't be prosecuted for the death. She will claim she "didn't know" her passenger was carrying, and that might even be true. There is no way to establish that she had any intention of participating in any crime.
It's not like she was a getaway driver for a bank robber or something.
If there were any drugs in the car, they might nail her for that. It would be spiteful.
My guess is that she will walk away from this with only a bit of hearing loss from those gunshots across her face. She was lucky not to get hit in the crossfire.
Good one handed stuff.
Let’s ask gun x-spurt arec barwin. ๐๐
“I didn’t know he was a felon”. “I didn’t know he was armed”.
Can they prove otherwise?
While sad, her bloatedness reaction was kinda funny.
Probably not, "beyond reasonable doubt".
Prosecutors don't like to take risks on weak cases. Most likely, no further legal action will be taken against the driver, unless she does something really stupid to antagonize the district attorney.
She is going to need hearing aids. Maybe she can sue the county and get settlement money to buy a set.
