Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), a member of the far-left “Squad” in Congress, introduced legislation on Wednesday that would provide a federal reparations program for black Americans.
The draft of the resolution claims the United States “has a moral and legal obligation to provide reparations for the enslavement of Africans and its lasting harm on the lives of millions of Black people” in the country. The resolution further calls for $14 trillion to be distributed to American blacks in an effort to close the racial wealth gap.

I kind of have a sinking feeling like “slavery reparations” are in 2023 about where “gay marriage” was in the mid-90s (i.e., a fringe idea fervently supported by a segment of the hard left but rejected by the majority of the population). With gay marriage, they kept hammering away, hammering away, undeterred by defeat after defeat in the states (including being rejected by California voters twice) ... until they finally succeeded turning the tide of opinion and achieving total victory in 2015.
A militant minority within the black population (egged on by white liberal idiots like Gavin Newsom) has seized upon this idea of reparations, and I just don’t think they’re ever going to let it go.
Every White has more wealth than every Black? Don’t think so. What will the cut off point be for getting reparations? They’ll just keep talking…

The one difference is that “race” actually IS a spectrum, unlike gender/sex. So how much “black blood” do you need to have to qualify to win the reparations jackpot? They’ll be forced to create a firm definition of the characteristics that make someone “black”, and there is no way they can do it. And that’s not to mention having to sort out who descended from slaves versus slave owners, the fact that over 4,000 free blacks in colonial America were slave OWNERS, etc.

Oh, did you know the extra-insane wing of the Donkey Party also introduced a bill to stack the Supreme Court? Guess where that’s going!
And keep in mind that homosexual marriage was forced on us through the courts.
Could future courts twist the Constitution , and say that the concept of equal protection of the laws , mandates that we pay reparations for slavery?
I know it sounds absurd, but in 1990 all of us would have thought it was absurd , that 25 years in the future ,the US Supreme Court would mandate that we change the definition of marriage to accommodate homosexual marriage.
You’re so right. “Gay marriage?”…that’ll never happen. Next thing you know, the alarmists will be saying that the next stop on the slippery slope is schools grooming young kids into deviant sexual practices by taking them to drag shows, having them read instruction books on homosexual sex, and setting aside “drag queen story hours” for trannies to read books about deviant sex to them. I know, absurd. Just more alarmist stuff that will never happen.
