DeSantis asked if Trump lost due to fraud, points to recent, frequent Republican defeats

SARASOTA, Fla. (FLV) – A reporter asked Gov. Ron DeSantis whether he believes that former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election to President Joe Biden due to “fraud.”

The reporter noted comments from DeSantis over the weekend in Iowa where he urged Republicans reject a “culture of losing.”

“Do you acknowledge that Trump lost and there wasn’t all this fraud that he talks about?” the reporter asked DeSantis.

“Well, I look at the last however many election cycles: 2018, we lost the House […] We lost the Senate in 2020, Biden becomes president and has done a huge amount of damage,” he said. “Very unpopular in 2022, and we were supposed to have this big red wave.”

“Other than, like, Florida and Iowa, I didn’t see a red wave across this country,” DeSantis continued. “I think the party has developed a culture of losing. I think that there’s not accountability.”

He pointed to his accomplishments and electoral success in Florida in 2022, winning by nearly 20 points.

“You can sit there and talk about cable news, social media, all these other things that people are fixated on. And for me, it’s like, OK, what’s that true north?” he said. “You obviously got to win otherwise you don’t get a ticket to the dance. But once you do that, how are you going to be able to actually bring about big change to make people’s lives better?”

Nope. There is loads of evidence and the obvious truth is the obvious truth. More likely, if anything, this Deep Stater was allowed to win because, well, he just essentially blessed the continued fraud of our elections.

I don't think any of us were that far gone back in January of 2021. Nobody would have believed they were that corrupt.

Good point. But there were signs. The Clintons. Obama. My guess is that 20 years ago, you still had some patriots working for the federal government. But they're all retired now. All the replacements share the same ideology. And they all live in D.C. So now we have the Deep State. It's going to be like the FSB (formerly KGB).

Perhaps instead of the grammar police it’s the insult squad when either arrives in the discussion you know the other person is short on arguments and long BS

Actually I do have a plan if ballot harvesting is legal you build the best ballot harvesting program, does the GOP have any plan at all, if they do I have never heard of it.

I encourage every Republican to vote as early as possible, none of this wait until Election Day and overwhelm the system when sometimes voting machines fail like in Arizona recently

File one lawsuit after another to clean up voter rolls, engage in law fare on a par with democrats

That’s just three ideas, ask yourself has the GOP put any plan together other than vote on Election Day ??

The rules allow vote harvesting and early voting do the Republicans have a plan to do either one ?? They might but I haven’t heard of any.

The Democrats have law fare down to a science are there no Republican lawyers to engage in similar activities

I don’t want to hear this the Democrats won’t let us do something

Okay. That’s fine. You’ve presented some ideas and they may even be good ones. But what does that have to do with not “harping” about the election being stolen? That was your original point. Does not talking about it somehow make the problem easier to solve?

Trump left his J6ers to rot in the DC gulag. He didn’t lift a finger to help them. I guess that’s ok, though.

What would you have had him do about it as he was the former President and our tradition going way back is for the outgoing President to go home and stand down.   So what do you feel he could or should have done.

Because all I hear is complaints about the elections were stolen, that’s over, what now, do you sit back and continue to complain or do you put together a plan to win using the rules that exist not the rules you wish existed.

Even here on FR the majority of posts are the elections were rigged and stolen, nothing about reversing the situation.

Constantly complaining without a plan to deal with the problem is a sign of defeatism

Think about the coach of a sports constantly complaining about getting his ass kicked but not doing anything to turn the situation around, that person would get fired but Republicans don’t do that, a prime example is Ronna McDaniel who presided over three straight disappointing elections and just got re-elected for another term which indicates to me more loses

Don’t believe “the deep state” sponsors Ron DeSantis

I do. They think DeSanctus is an easy mark. Which is true.

The way I see it, absolutely the Democrats are cheating in elections around the country and they are winning elections that Republicans should win as a result.

Given that, the only question is how Republicans deal with the situation.

Either we continue to complain and continue to lose, or we come up with a plan to take advantage of whatever the rules allow, because what we are doing now is not working and we continue to pursue the same actions, which is the classic definition of insanity.

I’m tired of hearing the complaints without any sort of action plan.

Agreed. Lots of whining but little action. That goes for President Trump as well.

What’s his action plan AND ongoing efforts to improve voting integrity? What teams does he have deployed in states where voting rules can be improved?

Some states are beyond saving on a statewide basis, California, New York, and Illinois are examples, but each has Republican Congressional Representatives, concentrate your time and money on those races where you are competitive.

Some states are teetering on the edge of the abyss, Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin are examples.

Those states need action plans on how to deal with current voting laws, there is no reason to have Democrats winning statewide races in a few states like West Virginia, Ohio, and Montana, and Georgia. That’s 5 US Senators who can and should be defeated, concentrate on those races, nominate candidates than can win, no more Herschel Walkers and Dr. Oz type of candidates.

Personally, I think Ronna McDaniel is a loser, the party had 3 straight disappointing elections, she should have quit or voted out of office, but Trump supported her and now we are stuck until at least 2024.

One of Trump’s biggest shortcomings is he demands loyalty and sometimes he’s willing to accept incompetence if they are loyal, Ronna McDaniel is at the top of the list.

Are you snowflakes serious when you come out with that kind of BS? Politics has always been a bloodsport, ever since Adam and Eve. Maybe you should just stay in Sunday school 25/7.

It’s obvious that when debating a point, someone resorts to grammar observations and insults to demean your arguments then they’ve lost the debate and offer nothing.

Your post is a prime example of that.

And those legislators had a chance to not certify. Yet they did.

It’s still on them.
