DeSantis asked if Trump lost due to fraud, points to recent, frequent Republican defeats

SARASOTA, Fla. (FLV) – A reporter asked Gov. Ron DeSantis whether he believes that former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election to President Joe Biden due to “fraud.”

The reporter noted comments from DeSantis over the weekend in Iowa where he urged Republicans reject a “culture of losing.”

“Do you acknowledge that Trump lost and there wasn’t all this fraud that he talks about?” the reporter asked DeSantis.

“Well, I look at the last however many election cycles: 2018, we lost the House […] We lost the Senate in 2020, Biden becomes president and has done a huge amount of damage,” he said. “Very unpopular in 2022, and we were supposed to have this big red wave.”

“Other than, like, Florida and Iowa, I didn’t see a red wave across this country,” DeSantis continued. “I think the party has developed a culture of losing. I think that there’s not accountability.”

He pointed to his accomplishments and electoral success in Florida in 2022, winning by nearly 20 points.

“You can sit there and talk about cable news, social media, all these other things that people are fixated on. And for me, it’s like, OK, what’s that true north?” he said. “You obviously got to win otherwise you don’t get a ticket to the dance. But once you do that, how are you going to be able to actually bring about big change to make people’s lives better?”

There was never a red wave. That was a media lie to get people like you buying into the notion it was Trumps fault.

GOPe engineered BS red wave.

This person with zero personality backed by Jeb Bush ain’t going to get a red wave.

Please clap.

I suspect that Kemp doesn’t fight election fraud because he’s figured out how to do the same thing democrats do and beat them at their game, in that case why rock the boat, Kemp and his preferred candidates won like Raffensberger, but Trump supported candidates lost like Herschel Walker, but Trump and his supporters alienated him and it might have cost two senate seats in Georgia

Plenty can be proven.

And DeSantis knows it.

To my mind he just declared himself Deep State’s.

So be it.

“A typical politician will never answer a “controversial “ question directly, calculation being it will hurt him”

Only Trumpers are so emotionally attached to Trump, they can’t see nuance. They are used to bloviating they can’t relate to or see thoughtful and insightful statements.

“Rob Sanctus has previously said Trump should have accepted defeat in 2020 and moved on. Also blamed him for Jan 6th.”

You are off the deep end. This is complete and total nonsense. As a propagandist, you are failing.

“Let’s see the list of deep staters that sponsored Desantis and how much they gave.”

The guilt by association is working anymore. Let’s see a list of all the actions DeSantis has taken as governor that demonstrate he is beholden to the deep state. Crickets.

A couple of things in reply, the MSM is never going to report election issues as RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, move on and learn to fight another way.

The way Solzhenitsyn suggested, or do you have something else in mind?

How do win elections in a system that’s rigged??

You run elections based on the rules that exist.

You may think you answered the question, but you did not answer the question. Running under the existing rules is not going to win.

What plan does the RNC or any Republican organization have to capitalize on ballot harvesting ??

Have none of you people who talk about "ballot harvesting" ever read the information I found on the topic here at Free Republic? It's like you just didn't read the articles I read about the Democrats various "ballot harvesting" techniques.

We can't follow those, or else we go to jail.

How will the GOP deal with mail in voting??

Do you have some suggestions, or is all your advice of the nature "don't lose!" i.e. effectively useless in actually dealing with the problem.

The answer right now is they don’t have a plan for either issue except to complain about it

If a problem is intractable, you won't find a solution to it. Do you have any suggestions, or do you want everyone else to do all the work on the problem?

You can’t make changes to election laws until you actually win elections first.

Strange that you should say that since many of Trump's losses happened in states that illegally changed election laws either by EO or corrupt courts. Even more strange no court has agreed to hear any case where election laws were changed but not approved by the state legislators who are the only authority that can do that.

And here I agree with you except for your suggestion that we go along with corrupt Ratburger and China Kemp so that he can hand us elections using his corruption system.

Yes, Kemp and Ratburger are gaming the system in Georgia. It's still corrupt.

“And Ron would be a no personality zombie harvard dude who needed that Queens loudmouth’s help to be where he is today.”

...and when Governor DeSantis became wildly successful, Trump attacked him. Hmmmm

Trump left his J6ers to rot in the DC gulag. He didn’t lift a finger to help them. I guess that’s ok, though.

Wrong! President Trump is helping with their legal bills and he is planning to pardon most if not all of them. No he couldn't pardon them the first time since they weren't indicted!

DeSantos is a trojan horse, plain and simple. He's just a standard establishment politician tricked out in MAGA drag, which is a little ironic.

It is corrupt, but ask yourself, would you rather have Kemp or Stacy Abrams as Governor of Georgia ??

A couple of other places this is happening are in Arizona and Nevada.

Republicans were winning and didn’t stop election changes proposed by Democrats, the results Republicans began to lose, especially those who started to complain about election fraud.

In Nevada, every Republican lost except for one, the Governor Joe Lombardo.

Does the name Joe Lombardo ring a bell ???

He was the sheriff in Las Vegas when the guy shot up the country music festival supposedly from the hotel window.

If you look into that case, you will see a ton of curious and inconsistent things that happened during the shooting and investigation, who covered everything up ??? Joe Lombardo who is a Republican who then ran for Governor and won when all other Republicans lost.

The democrat and republican establishment got the results they wanted and the destruction of the country has followed.

“In 2020, Florida ran an efficient, transparent election that avoided the major problems we saw in other states. At the same time, the election was not perfect, which is why we continue our efforts to ensure the integrity of our elections,” said Governor Ron DeSantis.”

There is a reason the media keeps asking candidates about this and it is because they know it makes them vulverable if they say 2020 was a cheat, and that such a stance is not popular with average voters.

Nobody knows who really won.

Of course they do, well except for a few stupid freepers. Even the wildest leftest knows they cheated but unlike you they know they did and now that they are in power they intend to stay there by any means necessary.
