“one camp, one influencer, one post and not a campaign.”

So what’s his point? Would it be okay if they just did “one post” for NAMBLA?

Anheiser-Busch screwed the pooch on this one.

As another Freeper pointed out, the CEO was either asleep at the switch or he was onboard with this marketing fiasco. Either way, it will likely result in him having to step down at some point.

The brand has been irrevocably damaged. Right or wrong, Bud Light will always be associated with this transvestite who makes a living pretending he is a little girl.

Men are going to be very reluctant to order Bud Light in bars, especially with other guys around. Yes, real men shouldn't care what others think of them and I've ordered umbrella drinks in bars with no shame. But reality is that most men DO care and don't want to be thought of as a "sissy" by their friends and such.

That said, I certainly won't buy A-B products anymore, not because I'm worried about what others might thing, but because I do not want to support a company that hired a creepy female impersonator who prances around like a little girl and makes a mockery out of womenhood.

The company still has not truly apologized for the stunt and has the perpetrators of the ad campaign on PAID LEAVE. That just tells me that A-B is hoping that this blows over in time and everything goes back to normal again.

Usually that is the case, but I think this might prove to be the exception. There are just so many other choices when it comes to light, weak, watered-down beer.

I don't see how the brand comes back

Bud Light is not beer, it is a beer-like fluid

Well I agree but that's missing my point.

I’m no expert but I’d imagine this going to get worse as their financials haven’t yet experienced the full ‘lagging indicators’. In the short term there’d still be orders made, distributors getting deliveries, stores, both big and small, replacing inventory etc. - only to realize people have stopped buying...and THEN cancel any plans for new orders. This takes time.

Seeing the Bud Light stand at a BOSTON (baseball?) game that had ZERO customers is very telling.

You can roll fresh horse apples in powdered sugar & call them donuts-—BUT IT STILL ISN’T TRUE.

Define “LONG TERM”

To an average American OR an archaeologist-—that is 2 entirely different things.

Budweiser made a mistake when they let a 39 year old female blockhead make marketing decisions aimed at an outlier demographic.

They’ll pay a price for their stupidity, but long term they should he all right.

Kinda like the Navy, eh?

I knew this was the response from the CEO back in April bu didn’t remember the part about negatively affecting frontline workers, basically making the boycotts feel guilty from taking money away from the drivers etc. totally evil tactic not unlike the tactic leftists use.

New marketing slogan: Drink Bud Light. It’s for the children.

Nope, this brand is NOT coming back from that. IMO this was so damaging it has to have been done on purpose. The objective -to kill the brand.

Replace it with unlimited quantities of cheap Victory Gin.

I’m predicting at the end of 2023....Bud-Lite ends. April of 2024, a mysterious new A-B brand arrives with the rice-like taste of old Bud-Lite...rebranded after a cartoon character.

Mulvaney and any other transgender “influencers” should be like adverting krytonite. Who in their right mind would think that an effeminate male prancing around like a stereotype Barbie doll would positively influence sales of a beer largely consumed by a blue collar market or anything else? It just shows how totally out of touch the leftists elites are from the real world.

All excellent points.

I think Bud Light has become something more than a marketing screw up. I think there are behind the scene actions, that are suggesting The Other Side see ps this as a Landing at Inchon moment.

This isn't just marketing. Some people have taken on the self-imposed title of Evangelist and Shape-Shifter. They don't want to JUST do a good job, they want to change society for "the better." Clearly, that was in Ms Heinerscheid's own words when she focused on Bud Light's "more resonant and meaningful" Super Bowl commercial

25:11..."Yeah! I....I think number one...you know...I'm a businesswoman...I had a really clear job to do, when I took over Bud Light. And....it was...this brand is in decline, it's been in decline for a really long time. And if we do not attract...young drinkers, to come and drink this brand, there will be no future for Bud Light. So I had this super clear mandate. Like, we need to evolve and elevate, this incredibly iconic brand. And...my...what I brought to that, was a belief in...ok, what does "evolve and elevate" mean? It's means INCLUSIVTY. It means shifting the tone. It means having a campaign that's truly inclusive and feels lighter and brighter and different and appeals to women and to men. And representation is at sort of at the heart of evolution. You've got see people who reflect you, in the work. We had this hangover...I mean...Bud Light had been...kind of a brand of...fratty...kind of out of touch humor...and, it was REALLY important that we had, another approach.

Now, contrast this S-show with New Coke. When that flopped, they immediately did a mea culpa and rolled back Coke Classic. It's now a HBR case study and a cautionary marketing tale.

Bud Light feels different. This isn't just a screw up.

We've all seen businesses screw up - they fire those responsible, bring in new management, have a public confession of the mortal sin, the public grants absolution, and we move on.

With Bud Light...

Ms Heinerscheid went public about "fratty" in March 2023.

Things blew up in early April.

Then they went radio silent for a week.

Then they supported the former marketing head.

Then Heinerscheid and her boss took a leave of absence.

Then the Clydesdales came back out of retirement in a commercial.

Then their US head sent a non-apology apology letter to the world.

Last week it was the fault of an outside agency.

This week, it's "misinformation."

All that's missing now, is the Obama-like "I knew nothing until I saw it in CNN."

Something tells me, that the Other Side sees surrendering on Bud Light as a de facto Landing at Inchon, Normandy, or Midway. If they fold on Bud Light, then MAYBE we will get back our Deplorable cultural swagger and get back to defending life, liberty and property.

This was no boating accident.

Something similar was in the movie “Repo Man” - just a white can with the word “Beer” on it.

What I really hope comes out of this is that other corporations finally learn to stay out of politics and especially stay away from trying to appear "woke", to use the common vernacular for virtue-signaling political correctness.

A smart CEO running a company will want to attract clients of all political stripes.

I'm fortunate to work for a large company run by executives that recognize that. We want to market our products and services to everybody and we go out of our way to remain politically neutral. All our employees actually go through webinars that coach us how to handle social media when representing the company. If we want to get political on social media, we need to use personal accounts with no linkage or reference at all to the company we work for. They are very strict about that.

Over the years, our client list has run the gamut from conservative foundations to clearly left-wing organizations. We are happy to sell our products and services to all and not engage in any controversy as it relates to our business.

Not really - you said there was nothing wrong with drinking cheap beer, but Bud Light is not beer. :P

I bet that A-B used to be apolitical. Sure they had their lobbyists but they are selling good times with friends and family.

Now, they’ve alienated their core customers, and the pro-trans people and DNC et al are probably POUNDING them - “you CANNOT back down. You are now part of the culture wars. The fratty knuckle-draggers are gone. We are your only hope. If you don’t go full-tranny we will NEVER buy your crappy beer.”

Something tells me the leftist culture warriors aren’t beer drinkers, or if they are they are craft beer snobs. When Bud Light goes full tranny their new besties will abandon them.

The left will claim Bud Light fell away because they didn’t go full tranny ENOUGH. The world will know better. The right will have its scalp.

And hopefully, as you say, we can get back to business.
