How are you defining a base?

Are you wholly unable to perceive and understand shades of gray or degrees of success?

I deal with matters in black and white.

If Russia is losing, as all of Western Media says daily, then we can stop giving Ukraine aid.

Right?

This is mildly heartening news. It's at best a morale booster. But one does not totally abandon a course of action at the first sign of progress.

You have your progress. Russia is losing, right? If they're not, then how much more money should we throw at Ukraine? Should troops be on the ground?

When the Russian people are dragging Putin's stinking corpse through the streets of Moscow, à la Mussolini, and celebrating their liberation from his yoke of tyranny, then we can talk about stopping aid.

That's fine by me, I mean you Ukraine shills really believe that those who don't support Ukraine must be Russian supporters by default. I really don't care what Putin does to his own people or who he invades in his neighborhood.

It's not our fight, OK?

“””If Russia is losing, as all of Western Media says daily, then we can stop giving Ukraine aid.”””

You should be a (hopefully for the enemy) General, if you perceive your troops are gaining on the battlefield then that is the time to cut them off from ammo, equipment, and what they need.

You know that is what kills advancing armies, don’t you?

If the U.S. was winning the War in the Pacific in 1944, then why did we continue fighting?

If "D-Day" in June of 1944 was such a tremendous success, then why did the U.S. government continue funding the military?

We should instead have just stopped, dead in our tracks, and gone home - by your bizarre logic.

I deal with matters in black and white.

Reality is not (always) "black and white." In fact, it seldom is. Sometimes, we have no choice but to make a YES/NO decision. But often, we can make a decision somewhere in-between.

It should, of course, be made on the basis of premises which jibe with reality.

I mean you Ukraine shills really believe that those who don't support Ukraine must be Russian supporters by default.

For my part, I don't believe that. Indeed, I know for a fact that there are good-hearted FReepers who differ with me on this issue. So please don't yourself make sweeping statements or broad assumptions about sincere FReepers who sympathize with and/or side with the Ukrainians.

In fact: Some who oppose Russia might not even especially side with the Ukrainians; they may instead simply wish to see the pre-eminent geopolitical foe of the United States for most of the 20th century - an enemy still pointing more nuclear-tipped rockets at the American heartland than ever before - taken down a notch, taught a lesson, humbled, and/or punished for launching the bloodiest war in Europe since the end of WWII.

Regards,

Zelensky and his cronies stole at least $400M from U.S. taxpayers last year

If the U.S. was winning the War in the Pacific in 1944, then why did we continue fighting?

Because we were explicitly attacked and drawn into conflict and our objective was to crush the enemy.

If "D-Day" in June of 1944 was such a tremendous success, then why did the U.S. government continue funding the military?

See previous reply. Your analogy is ridiculous, by the way.

We should instead have just stopped, dead in our tracks, and gone home - by your bizarre logic.

We don't need to be in Ukraine. Putin has specific objectives as to why he invaded, and he has always offered peace negotiations to Ukraine, nor is he not laying waste to the country that he can easily do.

Reality is not (always) "black and white." In fact, it seldom is. Sometimes, we have no choice but to make a YES/NO decision. But often, we can make a decision somewhere in-between.

Ukraine is not a member of NATO.
NATO is an obsolete organization
We have no interests in Ukraine, other than the interests of corrupt DC elites and the military-industrial complex who need a war to keep the coffers coming in.

For my part, I don't believe that. Indeed, I know for a fact that there are good-hearted FReepers who differ with me on this issue. So please don't yourself make sweeping statements or broad assumptions about sincere FReepers who sympathize with and/or side with the Ukrainians.

Your support of Ukraine and clamoring for the destruction of Russia is myopic. There, I made a broad general statement, which is basically true.

Good, good for Russia for providing a check on this criminal, out-of-control, warmongering government of ours.

We're not the good guys anymore, OK?

Nah, DC elites is doing that all on its own without the aid of us Putin-backed hackers and trolls.

I'm sure Putin is shaking in his boots at our drag sailors in the Navy.

We have given Ukraine over $100 billion in monetary aid and advanced weaponry.

What is the objective? What is the end-goal here?

"Muh, Putin is a monster!!" Yeah, so? You know who's a monster? The people that are flooding Europe and America with 3rd world African and Middle Eastern "migrants." The Soros and the fake NGOs. Why are we not stopping them?

Why are we defending a country known for corruption run by a dancing bisexual comedian puppet?

For some reason, you think that when your troops are advancing on the battlefield that is the time to cut them off from supplies.

It isn’t, in fact, your plan causes succeeding armies to stop and die as the tables turn.

“You don’t follow our posts very well at all.”

You don’t need to be a moron to support Putin, but it helps. Most of the pro-Muscovy posters here are not the brightest FR has to offer.

“Sure it is, but do we need 750+ bases around the world? Seriously.”

Do you also want to defund the police? Every time you reduce the number of men with guns on patrol you increase violence and anarchy.
