A US department of labor investigation uncovered child labor violations at three McDonald’s locations in Kentucky, which included finding two 10-year-olds working unpaid, sometimes until 2am.
The three McDonald’s franchisees cited in the investigation own a total of 62 locations across Kentucky, Indiana, Maryland and Ohio, and were found to employ 305 children working more than legally permitted hours and performing job tasks prohibited by law for their age.
Civil penalties totaling $212,754 were issued against the franchisees for the violations.

Not a safe environment for kids considering the drug rape networks around those places.
10 y.o's working at McDonalds? Really? the parents should be prosecuted. OTOH.. Ill bet we are only getting half the story, like mom or dad were working there too and couldn't afford a sitter. if so, they weren't hurting the kids.
any of y'all ever live on a farm?

Oops......BIG oops......that was incredibly-stupid
No
But I was pimping Candy bars at 10 and pushing a mower before that.
Did they say anything about immigration status? Probably not part of this but border crossers are afraid of being deported and might clam up if they knew of child labor violations or anything else at work.
Guy I knew at work was from Mexico as a boy in the 80s. Totally legal citizen later. His whole family had to produce a certain number of “flats” of berries and other produce in Michigan while legally migrant temporary laborers. He as a 9-11 year old (along with his sisters) helped the family with the stoop labor every day or they wouldn’t reach the quota. He told me “those flats were big and had to be filled.” Family never took welfare.
You can have kids working at younger ages if you get exemptions/permissions. I started working young, my folks got paperwork set up so that I could work earlier than what was considered normal.
Oh, the horror!
My kid had a lawn biz at 10. Cash in hand...and hand. No taxes.
That’s what they’re after.
The MEDIA has used child labor since the invention of the printing press.
I wondered about immigration status too.
Just for reference a 15 year old cannot work in a walk in cooler or freezer. Like OSHA any regulatory agency can find violations if they look hard enough.
Oh yes.
When I was 16 my employer began violating employment law.
I brought it to their attention. They were not happy. They didn’t challenge me on it, though.
Because they were facing fines for violating intra-state employment rules.
Knowingly.
Good luck with that as we go cashless.
or make sure your wife and sister stay pretty.
My guess would be that the parents were the franchise owners.
Instead of collecting the fine, the State should pay the kids.
Cashless society. That’s what those 89,000 IRS agents are for.
How are you going to buy cocdrugs, a hooker, or anything without the Govt knowing.
My apprentice details cars on the weekends and I told him he better incorporate before the CBDC gets implemented
HOW ARE THE ILLEGALS GOING TO PAY THE COYOTES THAT BRING THEM NORTH????
