Tuesday, during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) touted an effort he and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) had partnered on to combat insider trading within Congress.
According to the Florida Republican, his New York colleague was “wrong a lot” but not “corrupt.”
“AOC is wrong a lot,” he said. “She’d probably say the same thing about me. But she’s not corrupt. And I will work with anyone and every one to ensure that Congress is not so compromised. We should disallow congressional stock trading for the same reason we don’t allow the referee to bet on the game. And this is not a small amount of money. Seven hundred and eighty-eight million dollars worth of securities traded by members of Congress last year, about one in every four members of Congress is doing this.

She ain’t smart enough to be corrupt and get away with it. Now McConnell, Pelosi, Schumer, and most democrats are corrupt and evil.

According to CA Knowledge, which seems to be accurate, her net worth is 5 million. Not bad for someone making 174k/year for the past four years.
I am all for banning politicians from trading stocks while serving in office.
I would suspect most people are.
People getting lost in the weeds for their personal dislike for someone are distracting from the real issue.
Also, wasn’t she paying her boyfriend/fiance with campaign funds?

Matt also came out supporting that liberal congresswoman who had lesbian affair with her help- can’t remember her name now- she was the one they kicked out of party for it.
It may be she’s using this opportunity to establish a reputation as an honest politician specifically because she’s vulnerable to the charge of being a corrupt one.

Exactly. Someone should ask Matt to explain how she became so rich on that salary in such a short period if she isn’t corrupt.
I recall when she was first elected and complaining about how she could not afford an apartment in the DC area.
Next thing you know she is living in the Watergate Apartments, walking around in designer dresses and wearing Feragamo Pumps.
