Pornhub Blocks All of Utah From Its Site
Vice ^ | Samantha Cole

In response to a new law that requires porn sites to verify users’ ages, Pornhub has completely disabled its websites for people located in Utah.

As of today, anyone accessing Pornhub from a Utah-based IP address doesn’t see the Pornhub homepage, but instead is met with a video of Cherie DeVille, adult performer and member of the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee, explaining that they won’t be able to visit the site.

States are working hard to discourage abortion by banning it or blocking it. And guess what? It's working! So why not ban or block porn? These evils cannot go unchecked.

Indeed, but there are certain libertarian (versus social) conservatives who want the ability to indulge in porn, fornication, etc. and have little use for Bible religion (and the RF here) and no real objection even to homosexuals engaging in their relations "as long as it does not affect me." Which of-course it substantially does.

Then there those who have a legit concern over fostering a "slippery slope," which is exactly what occurred and is via civil rights legislation, when the basis for belonging to a protected class went beyond non-moral aspects skin color, and was expanded to how one feels, allegedly from birth.

Yet my opposition to immorality is due my having been "born again that way.

Sorry Op. I dont click on ANY links on this site any more. Last few months ago I had to get a guy come over and do work on this old pc and he checked this site and told me to NEVER click on any links anymore. And to flash session the site. The guy is a retired former officer for the internet crime division of the state. Snowbird..until/if he comes back next year, I got to stay clear.

Absurd overreach. Use MVPS host file, and pray (see tag) and press (es. stay away from porn and gambling sites). I have opened thousands even recently, with no problems, by the grace of God.

Then there posters who lazily post the first 2 or 3 sentences of an article, sometimes even with extraneous ("see our Facebook page") click baits, rather than taking the time to gather excerpts that provide the meat of the article, at least within the usual 300 word limit.

And that is why we don’t have a Constitution anymore.

Once you even crack the door the slightest bit, it will get slammed wide open eventually. Want examples?

-—There are issues where you have to weigh things off, pros and cons. During Covid, what is the best course of action to prevent infection or deal with it once exposed?

-—There are some issues where there is all together no right or wrong, it’s a matter of taste. What’s your favorite color, car, food...

But when it comes to basic ideas like the US Constitution, I would argue even the interpretation of the Bible, there are no shades of grey. Those that open the doors or want to create interpretive wiggle room are an enemy to the basic concept of what these documents/ideas were all about.

In these cases, it very much so is all or nothing and in fact if you look at our Constitution and how it’s being undermined by our own government (bureaucracy) you can see the slippery slope at work. From freedom of speech, the right to a speedy trail, no warrantless searches, your right to bear arms, the right to a trial by your peers, to have the evidence against you presented, IN ALL CASES wherever government opened the door, all you saw over time was that door drifting ever more open when it came to government powers.

Name me one of the Bill of Rights which has not been abridged?

https://www.archives.gov/founding-docs/bill-of-rights-transcript

Name me one right where government gave itself the powers to control you, where they haven’t expanded those powers over time?

Shades of grey and no absolute sounds a lot like someone else: https://nypost.com/2022/06/02/biden-to-deliver-primetime-gun-speech-before-leaving-delaware/

People have this unfounded idea that somehow government is more noble, more objective and scientific than the average man. That is simply not the case. Government is by far the more evil of the two. Government can hide behind secrecy and a bureaucratic veil. They make decisions by committee to distribute responsibility, pass responsibility by claiming they were just following orders, and in the end no one is ever responsible. In fact, everyone in government is only in their position for a short time, and they often don’t need to deal with the consequences of the mess they created.

Now, what is also true, is that the same forces that make us all do bad things, some would call it sin, are still present in government. You still have people that are full of greed, lust, wrath, envy, pride, gluttony and sloth. May it be the politician that wants to promote his career, the interests behind him that usually are all about economics, or the burocracy itself, they all are motivated by selfish and primal causes. Politicians are still people, as are the bureaucrats and the organization, which like a living organism themselves.

***Government’s ability to avoid responsibility, yet to touch everyone (impact millions at a time), with near unlimited powers (use of force via law enforcement, taxes, eminent domain, mandates, etc), make it the far greater threat than your neighbor that is watching “porn.”***

-—Who went to prison for kidnapping and torture of folks we considered bad? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extraordinary_rendition https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enhanced_interrogation_techniques

You are putting a lot of “faith” in people, hoping they won’t do the wrong thing, but who are ultimately not responsible most of the time if they do, who can affect millions, and who have near unlimited power compared to the “porn” watching neighbor that poses a public health risk now.

One can be opposed to immorality without trying to legislate it. Fornication is immoral, as is adultery, but we generally don’t punish it under civil or criminal law.
