At this point, Democrats aren't even trying to hide the fact they are out to destroy the country.
Oregon proposed a law allowing homeless people to sue municipalities for as much as $1,000 per violation as part of a new initiative to decriminalize homelessness.
House Bill 3501, known as the Right to Rest Act, would allow homeless individuals o use public spaces in "the same manner as any other person" without discrimination for their housing status, despite residents expressing frustration over the impending safety and hygienic issue.
Homeless people could also be awarded up to $1,000 if they are "harassed" by anyone trying to make them move.
Oregon's recent growth in homelessness is among the largest in the U.S., growing by 23 percent between 2020 and 2022 and increasing by 3,304 people to about 18,000.
While Portland has seen a decrease in population, homelessness spiked by 50 percent from 2019 to 2022.
The bill, sponsored by Beaverton-area Democratic Representative Farrah Chaichi, is unlikely to pass this session since it has already missed several key deadlines and a sense of "compassion fatigue" that has taken route in the Oregon state legislature this session.
Homelessness has been a significant issue for Oregon since the 2020 riots. The college town of Eugene has caused problems for residents who fear for their safety after squatters living in RVs have taken over the area, who often engage in public sex acts and take part in drug use.

Well, Oregon residents, you voted these clowns into office. You can vote them out...and then chace them out of the country (not the state, the COUNTRY). Do it. Save the rest of us the time, tar, and feathers. These SOBS deserve to live in Russia or some country more attuned to them.
Going to be difficult to collect on those lawsuits if the locals decide it’s more expedient to deliver a lead suppository between the eyes of the gypsies.
Sooner or later, that is where this will lead, which will give the govt an excuse to start attacking law abiding citizens who were pushed too far. Nothing left to lose, so it will be the officers job to survive attempting to arrest the locals who have taken matters into their own hands.
Sue who? The guvmint?
Eastern Oregon needs to quickly join Idaho.
Homeless people could also be awarded up to $1,000 if they are “harassed” by anyone trying to make them move.
I can see enterprising homeless individuals camping out on someones driveway. homeowner goes to leave, thet get nailed for asking the bums to get out of the way. collect 1000 bucks, rinse, repeat at another location.
Oregon tradition—>
everywhere is a squat
I think this is a great law! For Oregon. Maybe California and Washington, too! And NYC! And Illinois!
The state government is enacting laws that allow the homeless to sue conservative local governments that act to control how the homeless act / where they stay / etc.
Last tax-paying Oregonian leaving, flush the john.
Well, oregon, just bend over, relax and enjoy the rhythm of the organ
NUKE OR from orbit. 5X.
Idiots on parade.
So if a tent is now considered a home will there be property taxes against it? if not normal homeowners should sue for discrimination. Why should they have to pay property taxes on their home if the homeless don’t?
Is everyone insane in Oregon ?
I’m sorry officer, I was running late to work and I didn’t even see them as I backed out of my garage...
Why is the left so hell bent on destroying everything they touch? I think Michael Savage is correct. Liberalism IS a mental disorder.
.
In Douglass county Oregon 25 years ago they were not.
It was a great place to live.
Things have changed since I moved away.
Portland, of course, was always sort of a craphole anyway...
Let's just say: a 'Craphole Lite'.
Time to Flee Babylon. Every unclean spirit resides there. This will only cost taxpayers millions. The state government hates the taxpayers with a passion. Flee from Oregon!! Flee Now!!!
