Maybe she owns lots of stock in those pharmaceutical companies selling weight loss drugs. Because at some point many of those obese children will find it is not so easy to take weight off and turn to anti-obesity drugs. It might happen while they are still young or when they are older.
It won’t be societal pressure that makes them want to lose weight. It will be their health status. It may also be insurance costs linked to risk factors.
I don’t think people should be shamed... but let’s not leave health out of the equation here. Physical health of course, but also mental. Dieting can be just as obsessive as eating - they can both be disorders. Both can lead to poor outcomes. Losing excess weight for health is a good thing. It’s just that the health incentive to do so is often years or decades down the road so there is seldom any urgency to lose weight other than the social stigma, until the doctor tells you you have diabetes, heart disease, need medications or stent or bypass surgery etc.
The inverse is also true for those with being skinny obsessions.
Obesity concern is about quality of life not deep seated bias.
Just try getting dates as an obese person. No matter how they stomp their feet that isn’t going to change.
Being overweight is a health hazard. Leftists want people dead. Being significantly overweight will get you there.
We can’t hurt their feelings about their weight, and we can’t put put pressure on them to lose weight, but there is not a thing wrong with letting them die with weight issues!!!!!!!!!

There are people who are starving their children of necessary nutrients because they fear them being "fat". These people are generally vegans.
On the other hand we have a bunch of parents who do not bother to monitor their child's diet and the kids are not "pudgy" but down right fat.
Pudgy is a stage a child goes through right before a growth spurt. A summer of running around outside and they have shot up three inches and now are skinny.
Fat is something quite different. It never goes away.
These people are sick and evil.
I do not remember any either. I was not overweight then at all. That did not happen until marriage into a “fat” family

Education changes behavior, whether about diet or spiritual health. People make choices and there’s a thing called “repentance” which means to change one’s mind- change how one looks at food, life, love, God.... Sin is sin- not living according to what brings life and love resulting in destroying the temple of the Holy Spirit and others. Food won’t fill the hole in their soul, and continuing to use that behavior will attract demons to take up residence. “Do you hate me because I tell you the truth?” Maybe the doctor needed to tell the person with more love, compassion and education. Regardless, Jesus didn’t come to condemn the world and if blame is to be laid, it is one’s ego that didn’t receive the correction as an opportunity to grow and go from glory to glory.
If you have a voice, speak out against Big Food. Americans are fat because Big Food sells them crappy food that makes them fat, THEN hands them over to Big Diet to make more money on their fat bodies. Americans have much to learn about nutrition and health, but “normalizing” obesity is a step in the wrong direction.
