The decision to let Mr. Carlson go was made on Friday night by Lachlan Murdoch, the chief executive of Fox Corporation, and Suzanne Scott, chief executive of Fox News Media, according to a person briefed on the move. Mr. Carlson was informed on Monday morning by Ms. Scott, another person briefed on the move said.

The host, a polarizing and unpopular figure at the network outside of his own staff, was exposed as part of a defamation lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems as a bully who denigrated colleagues and sources, often in profane and sexist language, and called for the firing of Fox journalists whose coverage he disliked. He has also drawn condemnation from the right and left for his role in fostering a revisionist account of the assault on the United States Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Lachlan Murdoch was said to have been caught off guard by the program, which also led two conservative Fox News contributors to quit in protest, Jonah Goldberg and Stephen Hayes.
In March, Mr. Carlson edited down tens of thousands of hours of footage from the attack given to him by Speaker Kevin McCarthy and used them to falsely portray the rioters as people Mr. Carlson called “mostly peaceful” onlookers who had innocently ambled into the Capitol. The broadcast drew a rebuke from Senator Mitch McConnell, who is a friend of Rupert Murdoch’s and said Mr. Carlson had drawn “offensive and misleading conclusions.”
So he showed the public the January 6th footage and dared question the event.
There are few people in media who have their own independent following loyal to them.
Tucker is one of them. If he goes to an independent platform, his audience will be even bigger and his voice more influential.

Tucker Carlson, the highest rated cable news host in history, is out at Fox News. The news comes days after the network cut ties with host Dan Bongino 48 hours after the network settled with Dominion Voting Systems for nearly $800 million.
"Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways," reads a statement from the network, which thanks him for his service "as a host and prior to that as a contributor."
Carlson's executive producer, Justin Wells, is also out at the network according to Semafor.
According to the statement, Carlson's last show was Friday, April 21st as he continued to dominate, and his slot will now be filled by 'an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named."

Mr. Carlson's last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.

Lachlan Murdoch, wife, and all his siblings are left-wing activists. His SIL used to work for the Clinton Foundation.
They’re not worried about money. 92 year old crow Rupert already made more than enough for them.
People need to realize that Fox News is not conservative. It was a business venture for Rupert. The kids don’t care as long as they can rub elbows with their elitist liberal friends at their social gatherings.

Murdoch signed him up ($100 million deal) for UK TalkTV, Australia Sky News and Fox, but he’s been stuck in Fox Nation.
recently, he’s popped up on various Fox News shows, including Gutfeld. Greg seemed very excited to have him on.
now is probably when the Murdochs will give him Tucker’s primetime slot.

Released this morning, official BARB figures have shown Nigel Farage’s GB News show has bested the TalkTV flagship programme.
Is this a sign of things to come and will Piers himself be cancelled?...
Nigel’s 7pm show peaked at 73,600 viewers, whereas Piers’ 8pm time slot didn’t fare so well and brought in only 58,800 viewers.
Although very different shows, another sign of Piers’ possible demise comes with GB News’ 8pm show hosted by the less prominent Mark Steyn also managed to match Piers’ figures.
Not only that, Mark was also able to beat him on audience figures for 15 minutes...

This is a context you won’t find elsewhere {smiles}. The phone has been blowing up…. Context and some details matter.
First, Carlson was being paid about $20 million a year by Murdoch. He had about 3 years left on his contract and will be paid the full contract amount. Carlson found out about 10 minutes before Fox Corp made the announcement. They did not “part ways,” Tucker Carlson was fired.
Carlson will not be asked to sign an NDA, is not bound by a “non-compete” clause following the contract nullification by Fox Corp, and will be free to do anything he wants in any venture. Additionally, he will be free to say whatever he wants about the issues at Fox and speak freely, or not, without any legal or contractual constraints. Keep all of that in mind.
Fox Nation was struggling prior to Tucker Carlson’s long show broadcasts. The entire Fox Corp digital streaming service, Fox Nation, was anchored around the Tucker Carlson Today digital streaming service. Fox News has just torpedoed their anchor, shot their lead dog, destroyed the digital brand. That gives you some scale and scope to how the elements viewed the threat of influence that Tucker Carlson had become.

And during a six-month period of February through July of this year alone, Tucker generated $37.2 MILLION for Fox News and obliterated the competition.
So, Fox big wigs were heavily politically intimidated by RINOs and a dislike of him by the Murdochs and they now come up with this “toxic workplace” and “mean behavior” BS.
It’s always been a pretty petty and pandering organization (e.g., from making Greta Van Susteren get a nose job to hiring that fool Juan Willians.)

Some bunches of people showed up, as requested by President Trump, and some of those bunches might have some corresponence, but as a whole movement, who had the directives for . . . Ray Epps, and for the people who let the protesters into the Capitol proper?

The Murdoch’s disagree with Tucker politically. They lean to the left. They were simply waiting for opportunities to fire him as a cover for who they really are. Hope Gutfield leaves, too.
