Hundreds of Satanists will converge in Boston's Copley Square at the end of April for the second annual SatanCon. But they aren't coming to worship the devil.
With over 800 registered attendees, organizers say they're expecting it to be the largest ever gathering of Satanists, accompanied by protests of conservative and Christian groups from across the country.
The event has been widely covered in conservative media, including Fox News. Online protesters like televangelist John Ramirez say the Satanic Temple, the organization hosting the convention, exists "so demons and spirits can work in the atmosphere ... to really bring destruction to the people."
Dex Desjardins, an ordained minister of Satan and spokesman for the Satantic Temple, said the church is often misunderstood.

Obviously the author has never been to a death metal concert.
Until the Dem Convention..............
Man, talk about a target-rich environment!
Hmmm, figured something like that would be held in DC where it’s closer to the source of evil.
Too bad a nuclear missile or asteroid isn’t likely to strike!
Hope they enjoy the lake of fire with their master.
For Who’s Sake?
Yeah, that's the narrative the Satanists are putting out and the media just parrots it. We have lots of experience with these guys when they brought their convention to Phoenix last year. Don't forget: the Devil lies. Jesus tells us that the Devil was a liar (and a murderer) from the beginning.
1. They are making a big deal about gathering in Satan's name. If you are having a big convention in someone's name, you are at least honoring them, if not worshipping them.
2. They say they call themselves Satanists only for shock value or because Satan supposedly symbolizes free-thinking and freedom of religion--but they don't worship him. But this is also a lie. Out in public they're not going to act out Satanism because they are using a false public persona. But as we know from the Phoenix event and others, they perform satanic rituals during these Conventions including the attempted sacrilege of a consecrated Eucharistic host stolen from a local Catholic Church.
3. They point to good things they do in the community like Adopt a Highway and afterschool programs for children. Again, part of this false public persona.
Their goal is a long term one: to inure the populace at large against seeing Satanism (and Satan) as a bad thing. Soon people will see Satan as a harmless myth that can be dismissed and start ignoring the fact that the real Satan is alive and well and the enemy of God and of all mankind. This will probably take quite a while to accomplish, but Satan can afford to be patient. He'll take all the time given him.
Boston, who’s the GOAT now?
God.
Shirley you’ve heard of Him.
Without doubt ☝ the largest gathering of Satanists.
Well, having lived in Boston a number of years, I can say that this would be an appropriate venue for such an event.
I have heard of God. He’s the creator of the Universe and all that exists within it, but that’s not important right now.
And don’t call me Shirley...
For some reason, I just don’t take them seriously. I put them in the same category as Wiccans — a bunch of kooks.
Do they have to show their vaxx card?
“But they aren’t coming to worship the devil.”
So what, churches have gatherings all the time without being there to worship God.
Man is often simply wanting to worship himself.
Exactly.👍😉
