Not just for parents, but for anybody who is considering going downtown.
You will notice that “youth” do not riot in Mexican neighborhoods or in Chinatown. Or in any of the remaining less upscale “white ethnic” neighborhoods.

A few guards posted with AR-15s on the rooftops would slow them down.

Throwing lots of these scumbags for 10 years a whack would also slow them down. But i am 100% sure telling folks to not pass judgement on them will certainly embolden them.

Maybe better that a dusk-to-dawn curfew where kids under 18 cannot be out without a parent present and arrest all others and let the parents pick them up or release them the next morning.

Let the parents know what’s happening? They should say the parent (singular) because these kids are raised by single moms who are living in the projects and collecting welfare checks. And the parent doesn’t care, otherwise the kids wouldn’t be out rioting.
To: Salman
Just send in a few social workers. They’ll know what to do.

This is a good idea. It will alert tourists, business people, etc. But if a parent simply cannot control a kid, no alert will make any difference in that regard.
Anyway, I wonder how long it will be before complaints shut down the system. You know, complaints from “community activists” that the alerts are discriminatory.

“Let parents know it’s happening.”
So, how will that help? The parents are one of the reasons why the riots are happening! Maybe if the folks were productive members of the community, had a job, didn’t do drugs, didn’t smoke pot, didn’t engage in bonobo-monkey-like sex activity, then this kind of thing wouldn’t be a problem.

Will they call it Black Alert?

A new idea on the table…”New”? I guess coddling criminals and using ineffective defenses while civilization crumbles IS a new idea, but it is so typical of liberals to blame the victim, not the criminal.
Here’s a better idea: turn on the Civil Defense sirens when the teens are getting exuberant.

A new idea on the table is an Amber Alert-like system to let parents know these gatherings are happening.
Is this in place of or does it replace midnight basketball?
It would seem that this would only increase the presence of more people [the parents who care] in a tenuous situation.
Sort of like yelling 'bomb' in a stadium and Amber-alerting relatives of attendees. Then trying to 'police' the hundreds of recipients who show up.
Cell phones are nice, but they can get to be annoying. I turned off 'alerts' years ago -- because I was frequently getting loud alerts for events hundreds of miles from my location.

A new idea on the table is an Amber Alert-like system to let parents know these gatherings are happening.Does anyone here seriously expect that the parents single mothers are going to give a damn about the riot in progress?
Does anyone think that they are then going to drop everything (e.g., crack pipe) and rush to the scene of the crime to rescue their delinquent children these young thugs?

I suggest they also blare sirens for the duration of the "Amber Alert."
That way, all of us Eloi will know that we have to go to our shelters, where it's safe.
