Pro-DeSantis PAC offers to pay for Trump to move out of Florida after he called it the 'worst state'

A super PAC supporting a potential White House bid from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Saturday it will financially support former President Donald Trump's move to California — just one day after the GOP 2024 front runner took aim at the Sunshine State's leadership and called it the "worst state."

"Donald Trump has so deeply disparaged the state of Florida by calling it the ‘worst state,’ we at Never Back Down will help him leave by offering financial assistance to help him move to his beloved California, so he can be close to his good buddy Gavin Newsom, whom he loves so intensely and gets along with so well," Never Back Down CEO Chris Jankowski said in a statement.

"The good news is that since so many people are moving to the state of Florida, thanks to the incredible success of Governor Ron DeSantis, no one will notice when Trump leaves," Jankowski added. "The state of Florida will be better off when Trump takes his Soros-fueled, dumpster fire of a campaign to San Francisco, where it will fit right in."

In a lengthy statement issued Friday, Trump, who chose to reside in Florida following his time in the White House, targeted DeSantis' leadership in the state and insisted that Florida "has become one of the least affordable states to live in the country."

Trump claimed, "Florida has become among the worst states" to "live, find economic opportunity, work, retire, raise a family, pay taxes, be safe, rent a home, have a baby, afford energy, die, be a teacher, be a doctor, [or] be a police officer."

Additionally, Trump claimed that Florida is not a good place for "millennials, working dads, [or] working moms."

Trump could pay for his campaign by taking bids for where he’ll move - and build a world-class resort and golf course.

Sounds like this PaC has money to throw away. Is this allowed by the IRS to let PACs throw money into projects that are out of line with political guidelines?

Yes these are absurd comments from Trump.

Do any of you agree with these comments, that Florida somehow is a terrible state, and has difficulties because of DeSantis being governor?

Americans are still moving to Florida. They might regret it.

The Miami real-estate agent Michael Bordenaro told Insider in 2021 that 40% to 50% of his clients who are new to the state move out within a few years.

I’m sorry. This is asinine. Trump doesn’t need to tear down Florida to win the GOP nomination. So many unforced errors by DJT. Ugh.

What do Florida lawmakers say? This:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/saradorn/2023/04/20/trump-now-claims-endorsements-from-majority-of-gop-congress-members/?sh=2be9c2e359c6

Seven GOP Florida Congress members endorsed Trump this week over DeSantis for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, bringing Trump’s total to 11, meaning that even if the eight other Florida Republican representatives who have yet to endorse get behind DeSantis, Trump will still have the backing of the majority of Florida’s Republican delegation.

Only three Republican congress members—Reps. Tom Massie (Ky.), Chip Roy (Texas) and Laurel Lee (Fla.)—have endorsed DeSantis.

So those Congress critters agree with Trump that Florida is the “worst state” too?

Nope. Just think this is a dumb fight. Thought it when DeSantis first picked it. Was kind of surprised they didn’t fight him. Then I heard about this maneuver, and realized my mistake. And now I think DeSantis would be best served by realizing the fight was dumb, and he can’t win it, and just walk away.

In my area none of the incoming have moved back out of Florida.

Former President Donald Trump on Friday lauded Florida as a “great state” and a “great place” hours after his campaign blasted the Sunshine State as one of the “worst” in the union.

Trump is only running against a PAC. He can say what he wants . Maybe the PAC will enter the race.
