Ya know I disagree with Dennis on this one but overall all I agree with him and find him a much needed and measured voice.
When we examine the centers of the brain that porn affects, we find porn everywhere.
And yes, it’s all damaging. People magazine is porn for women. Facebook is porn. Hell - all social media is porn. I get these little blip-verts (Hats off to Max Headroom) about alternate home construction and it does the same things.
“I deserve _________ instead of the garbage ________ that I currently have”
“This guy is getting what I want. I want what he has.”
“Here is video of someone doing something that I want to do. It could actors - I simply don’t know but my mind is telling me these are real people. Look, the title even says it’s real people”
Then the 3 tenets of Narcissism: I deserve this. I expect this. I am justified in doing whatever I want to get this.
True. I think the writers of the Bible put too much about Mary magnaline who was Jesus’ best friend and was a prostitute. I think that has made many think it’s cool to do since Jesus was eventually ok with it. I think he got mad at first but got over it and they had a life long relationship even to the point she was invited to the cross on the day of Jesus’ death. And I believe she was invited to look in the cave to see that Jesus rose from the dead.
I think you are completly wrong on your supposition that it may reduce serial killers. Child porn doesn’t reduce sex crimez against children, so why would it reduce criminality against adults? In an industry that already relies on human trafficking, drug addiction and physical/verbal abuse to make its product. Not all murder porn is faked.
You are making the same moral error that Praeger does. No moral, spiritual or physical good can come from acts that degrade and objectify human beings.
When it comes sex all have sinned in thought, word and deed.
That having been said I will say experience with looking at naked women is ultimately not a good one whether live or in magazines or books or more modern media.
The mind is conditioned in public at work one tends to want to undress the women all around.
And those women often sense the dirty transaction taking place it’s the spreading of a “lust virus” a sexualization process.
Women being started at bothered incensed often but maybe going over to a darker side in their own thinking and actions from such experiences.
“If pornography is a substitute for one’s wife, it’s awful. If it’s a substitute for adultery, it’s not awful.””
During my time in Saudi Arabia, I encountered a Muslim missionary who claimed that engaging in sexual activity with a prepubescent boy was permissible, as it served as a substitute for committing adultery. This is a regular practice in Muslim countries.
Incoherent.
RE: Which talk show hosts do you guys prefer to Dennis Prager?
My favorite just passed away about 2 years ago.
One is inclined to question how much of his youth was spent polishing eggplants or getting rear-ended. "Do unto others what was done to you" ...
Your assessment of Talmudic law is incorrect.
Prager does not yet practice Orthodox Judaism. As pointed out there are scriptural prohibitions, and in the Talmud and post-Talmudic code of Jewish law explicit prohibitions against gazing at anything sexually titillating or salacious. Absolutely prohibited.
He’s usually a great conservative spokesman but is way off the Jewish reservation here.
In Chassidic philosophy— the thinking-sin is worse than the actual in some ways... corrupting core soul-faculties rather than just exterior actions/limbs...
It’s a peculiar story that thankfully isn’t culturally relevant to the United States but has been in various parts of the world. It’s too simplistic to claim it’s about contraception or self indulgence.
He took her as a wife but refused to procreate with her. He was motivated by his own financial benefit. He was lustful, greedy and refused to honor the commitment he made in the marriage. Something to consider.
I appreciate your correction. I didn't remember any references in my cursory reading of the Babylonian Talmud, which makes me a complete non-expert 🥸 thank you again
Ha ha ha!
“Women watch porn too”
Much of the “romance novel” industry is “chick porn”.
And wives who don’t want their husbands to turn to porn should make their best effort to keep him sexually satisfied.
Sounds like a Rodney joke.
Exactly.
That’s right!
Exactly, I disagree with Dennis for once.
Are you offering you and your spouse/partners services?
I mean if you really believe what you are saying?
Have any daughters who might be interested in a career in movies? Wink wink nudge nudge.
