Like many schools, Kent State University has a free speech rock that is a symbol of the right to free expression at that institution. However, some at the school appear to have a narrow view of what constitutes free speech after College Republicans painted “What Is a Woman?” on the rock. The question appears to be a reference to a documentary by conservative commentator Matt Walsh. The rock painting led to a petition declaring that “The Kent State College Republicans must be held accountable for their actions.”
According to KentWired.com, Marina Difranco, a senior visual communication design major, created the petition and website and insisted that “it doesn’t matter if you’re Republican, Democrat, old young, a student – this type of speech shouldn’t exist anywhere.”That sentiment is picked up by Kent State LGBTQ Studies Professor Lauren Vachon, who called the documentary hate speech. After offering the perfunctory acknowledgment that free speech is “super important,” she added “we know that the intent was antagonism. I do think there should be consequences for that. It’s not about free speech.”

So..
Check and Mate. to the college republicans here..
Did women ever exist, or was that merely a myth of an unenlightened past?
The students should quickly paint “we shall see just how “free” speech is as the higher ups pull their hair out trying to decide how to punish us for our free speech. P.S- it’s just words folks, sticks and stones can hurt you, but words can never do so! Lighten up!”
Can’t read, can’t write, can’t debate, Kent State.
the LEFT response:
no dissent
resistance is futile
These attacks on free speech are accelerating. And I fear that our children and grandchildren will eventually accept it as normal.
What’s the solution? Beyond trying to teach your children right from wrong, I dunno.
It occurred to me that one of the inflection points in the cultural wars began around the n word. We went from an attitude that words were simply words, the “sticks and stones” philosophy, to an attitude that says words alone are lethal weapons.
While I don’t advocate the use of the n word, our current attitude is counter productive. Use of the n word, while it is objectionable, provides clarity. The person using the n word will still have the attitude that underlies the use of that word, whether it is spoken or not. Therefore, the speaker reveals his or her true feelings. While I focus on the n word, it’s a jumping off point, to the whole pronouns and branding anything that isn’t leftist as hate speech.
Additionally, it is important for people to be mentally tougher than this current crop of Americans. You may call me whatever you like, reply to me with some vile comments, so what? Doesn’t hurt me. Sticks and stones.
The campus is sort of a commie shrine, owing to the student shootings in the hippie era.
Amazing that privileged American young people with access to education, internet, history books, etc., (i.e., everyone) can espouse communism en masse.
Having Russian roulette as a hobby makes far more sense.
Must be a myth, since there weren't any biologists back then.
The democrats love lawfare as their weapon to hurt their enemies. It will xome to your front door one day. Prepare, folks. Be able to live off the system or only be minimally dependent on it. Getting out of democrat run big cities is a must.
Defiance, silly, plus mockery. All their favorite methods right back at them.
They freak out over a rock? Paint dozens. Post stickers. Scrawl the question everywhere. Laugh in the face of effed up alphabet wackos.
We cannot coexist with these lunatics!
“What’s the solution? Beyond trying to teach your children right from wrong, I dunno.”
Yes, and make sure that they understand how our nation was formed, and upon what foundation it rests (The Constitution). And let us remember: there have been far, far more ‘dramatic’ approaches taken in response to tyranny in the past.

👍
“it doesn’t matter if you’re Republican, Democrat, old young, a student – this type of speech shouldn’t exist anywhere.”
Frigging drama queen. It’s time to send the Guard back to Kent State.
L
Difranco created the petition and insists that “it isn’t about free speech, this type of speech shouldn’t exist anywhere.” This is absolutely about free speech you stupid bint.
How about “2 + 2 = 4” ? Ready to call out the National Guard?
