President Biden on Monday spoke to the Kansas City teenager who was shot after he rang the wrong doorbell and wished him a “swift recovery,” the White House said.
Biden talked to 16-year-old Ralph Yarl and his family on the phone and “offered his prayers for Ralph’s health and justice,” the boy’s lawyers said.
The high schooler is currently recovering at home after he miraculously survived being shot in the head when he mistakenly rang the doorbell of a house where he believed he was supposed to pick up his younger twin brothers on Thursday.
Prosecutors said the homeowner Andrew Lester, 84, shot the teenager twice through the glass of his door

Not one word to the Nashville families? 5 white, Christian, likely conservative families, one hard working black family. Not worthy of his time.......
Did he call any of the families that lost victims to the deranged trans school killer?
This is the really unfortunate part. Biden is already muddying up things by making this all about politics.
The president should not be weighing in on issues that have yet to be decided upon in a court.
I wish people could see how dangerous and lowlife this is and it is so deliberate in order to cause major trouble and hatred.
But, people will allow Biden to get away with this
Right——How does a person go from Critical condition to home in 48 hours???
IIRC-—He advised using a SHOTGUN & shooting THRU THE DOOR.
You are correct. Biden did recommend firing “warning” shots into the air, which is bad advice. So he wasn’t for shooting the threat, just endangering innocent bystanders.
Did Biden speak the the teenage girl that had the same thing happen to her last week.
Bookie not taking bets
“The teen said he rang the doorbell, waited outside and did not pull on the door. A man opened the door holding a firearm. Yarl said he was immediately shot in the head and fell to the ground where he was shot a second time, this time in the right arm.”
“Prosecutors said the homeowner Andrew Lester, 84, shot the teenager twice through the glass of his door”
Hmm. So Andrew Lester opened his front door and immediately shot Yarl through the glass of his door. Those “facts” don’t quite align. I’m sympathetic to Yarl, but his statement seems a bit too perfect (did Benjamin Crump meet with Yarl before the police interviewed him?). If evidence proves that the glass was shot out from inside, it makes Lester look worse, but brings the witness’s statement into question.
Did Biden ask him to suck his tongue?
Beer Summit level pandering.
(1) Did he have a driver's license? If yes, what restrictions, if any?
(2) Driving after 9 PM may have violated the law.
(3) Driving with two minor child brothers in the car might have violated the law.
(4) Driving without a licensed adult in the front seat may have violated the law.
Ralph Yarl was driving unlawfully unless he had held a Restricted License for six months after his 16th birthday.
I tried to find his day of birth, but no luck.
"After age 16 and Restricted License has been held for 6 months then all age-related driving restrictions are removed"
Kansas Driver Handbook (Page 13):
You are really really stretching to try and lay blame on the kid, what did he ever do to you? It doesn’t matter if he was in violation of some supposed driving law or not, the old man shot him for no reason. Give it a rest.
because you want to keep someone away from your house,
just fire the shotgun through the door.” “ - Pres. Joe Biden
There were two doors. A lighter glass door opening to a regular front door as is common to many homes. So this old coot opened the inner door to see the kid either pulling or not pulling on the outer one. Either way opening the outer door to knock on the inner one is a pretty common way to knock on a door in my experience. It was late at night and the old man had reason to be skittish since there were a couple home invasion type robberies in the area over the past few months. I’m sure that’s what he’ll say when this goes to trial. I don’t want to live in a society that allows trigger happy old timers to shoot through a door without determining wtf is going on. I’d say the same if he whacked him with a baseball bat through the door.
He has made so many stupid, completely incompetent statements - how can anyone expect to remember them all?
I stand corrected. My comment from this am was based on the earlier version of the story, which had not mentioned a storm door. I agree with what you are saying, except that I would not open someone’s storm door to knock on their main door. The story might change by tomorrow am, but the whole narrative has been about Yarl ringing the doorbell—nothing about knocking, and not touching the door. Unless the kid had physically entered the house, there was no justification for shooting him.
