Andrew Lester, an 85-year-old white man, was charged with one count of felony assault in the first degree and one count of armed criminal action, also a felony...Merritt said that Ralph was released from the hospital on Saturday and is in the care of his doctors at home [shot on Thursday night].

Most probably glass shards from being shot thru the glass door, not buckshot/BB wounds.
Love is what matters most.
On the other hand, when was the last time you heard about someone getting shot in the head, being in "critical but stable" condition, and then being released from the hospital less than 48 hours later?
The victim was shot while on the porch. He ran into the yard and was shot again.
The homeowner needs to be locked up for life
A white man, eh? So race is relevant in crime stories again.
They forgot to capitalize White.
I agree with you, if the person shot did not enter the premises, but we don’t know that for certain. As somebody pointed out, apparently there are no bullet holes in the door which implies the door was fully open.
A laceration to the head that didn't penetrate the skull, my guess.
Wait a week, before you, even, try to form an opinion.
Everything, right now, is a lie.
I'm more concerned about the White girl that was assaulted and kidnapped, at her apartment building door, in Chicago, by the pack of ferals.
Only a brief video.
Nothing in the msm, of course.
As somebody pointed out, apparently there are no bullet holes in the door which implies the door was fully open.

As somebody else has also pointed out; the glass door has already been replaced. See post 19.
Wow. The kid is Black, but the man is white. One is a noun, the other an adjective. Not very subtle.
Also, where is the drum beat of “alleged”/“allegedly”???
Social engineering courtesy of our lying MSM government stooges.
I hope he gets a fair trial, and if found guilty, dies in prison.
The accused is 85 years old. So a few months, perhaps?
I understand he has a lot of health problems.
Could have been a grazing wound, or a clean entry and exit with no major part of the brain/head hit. They send everyone home from the hospital now a days if possible. We just don’t know and speculating is just that.
He was shot through a glass door. Lucky for the kid it was a .32, and didn’t penetrate his skull.
My bad. I have my glasses on and can see them now. Thanks!
As an aside: Do burglars ring door bells normally?
I do have a real problem with the second shot.
There's no reason for fiery but mostly peaceful protests and no reason to assume the shooting was racially motivated but there's PROFIT in doing so. Even Joe got in on the action and allegedly called the young Mr. Yarl.
On the upside there will be no hair sniffing of the victim by ol' Joe.
The 16 year old is in band playing a sax.
He ain’t a criminal. I bet he just did not know the address was wrong so tried the door handle. He was lucky he was hit by glass pieces and not the bullet.
Are you saying that young men in high school bands cannot create acts of criminality. I am willing to wait for the full story and the story is whatever the story will be.
The old man may have been senile and had a too-quick trigger finger or the young man might have tried breaking into the house.
It can go either way at this point.
Lester (the old man) admits he shot the victim through the closed, locked, glass storm door.
In his statement to police, Lester said he "had just laid down in bed when he heard the doorbell ring," according to the probable cause statement.Lester told police he picked up his gun, a .32 Smith & Wesson 1888 revolver, and went to the front door, which consists of an interior main door and exterior glass storm door, both of which were locked, the statement reads.
"Lester stated he opened the interior door, and saw a black male approximately 6 feet tall pulling on the exterior storm door handle. He stated he believed someone was attempting to break into the house, and shot twice within a few seconds of opening the door," the statement reads.
I do believe Lester might have been scared, but he made a terrible decision, and will likely pay dearly for it. I'm thankful, as I'm sure Lester is, that the kid will make a full recovery.
He would more likely be a ‘rapper’.
