A Florida woman turned the tables on her armed ex-boyfriend who showed up to her home on Easter Sunday and shot him dead with her own gun, according to authorities.
The Levy County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 3 p.m. Easter of a person shot at a duplex in the town of Bronson, authorities said. Officials arrived at the scene and found James Young, Jr., 40, dead on the floor inside the apartment.
Investigators say Young had "a prior domestic relationship" with the unidentified woman living in the home, and traveled to the duplex armed with a gun to "confront" the woman.

I’ve been to Bronson, Fl many times, it’s a small rural farming town near Gainesville, Fl, I would suspect a higher percentage number of people are armed in that town compared to most towns.

Well, he brought his gun with him to “confront” her. Maybe he just wanted to take her target shooting to discuss the fact she was a better target shooter than he.

Yeah, because abusive men always advertise themselves as such at the beginning of a relationship. /s
Rather than blame this woman for not being a mind reader, maybe we should be celebrating that a responsible gun owner defended herself and made a case against the gun grabbers.
Need both. If there is a restraining order, there won’t likely be an argument over whether it was self defense.
Bronson is a town in Levy County, which in terms of Florida counties is fairly large land wise but is sparsely populated and very rural and it has a lot of hunters.
Kids in that area probably learn how to shoot guns at 6 years old with BB guns and Pellet Rifles, like I did.
Then my father gave me a 410-gauge double barrel shotgun and a pump action 22 rifle to hunt with, I was probably 10 years old at the time, later on I saved up my money and had my father buy me a Ted Williams model M1 Carbine from Sears-Roebuck, finally in high school my father bought me a 12-gauge Remington semi-auto shotgun.
Levy County is about as rural as you get it Florida.
