A Jack Daniel’s fan has accused the whiskey company of going “woke” due to its ad campaign featuring drag queens.

“For those of you who know me well my drink has always been Jack Daniels. For over 150 years since 1866 this drink was always associated with cowboys, warriors, bikers, savage rock bands and all American bad ass people,” Pauly Michaelis wrote in a social media post Friday.

“THEY WENT WOKE,” Michaelis continued. He added a middle-finger emoji and stated that Jasper Newton, the founder of Jack Daniel’s, was “turning over in his grave.”

“THEY took a classic tradition of Americana that was the total definition of masculinity and made it WOKE and for this I say F**K YOU JD and all of your products. You will never have the honor of touching my lips ever again,” he declared.

In his video, Michaelis brought items including a mirror, Jack Daniel’s glasses, and signs he displayed in his pub outside to dump them:

Jack Daniels is not.bourbon..

You are 100% correct. You wanted recommendations, I recommend a good bourbon.

Jim Beam and Jack Daniel’s are two of the most famous Whiskey brands worldwide. Jim Beam is a Bourbon, while Jack Daniel’s officially is classified as Tennessee Whiskey.

1 While Jim Beam has more spice and less sweetness on the palate, it makes for a light drinking experience.

On the other hand, Jack Daniel’s has more sweetness and vanilla notes which make it more memorable for those with sweet palates.

"If jD was your drink of choice when ever you drank, I'll be the first to say it. You are bourbon clueless and obviously drank to impress your friends...."

Jack Daniel's isn't bourbon, it's sour mash whiskey.

"Using a bit of starter is why Jack Daniel's is called a sour mash. The mash ferments for a full six days before being single distilled in a large copper still made to our exact specifications....

"Well-known brands of sour mash whiskey are Jim Beam and Jack Daniel's.

So who's bourbon clueless now?

Thanks for the excellent suggestions, my good FRiends.

I'll test them in an unhurried fashion (don't want my wife to worry).

The thread will be long gone, but maybe I'll do a vanity on what I observe.

Again, thanks.

You might want to go read the label on a bottle of Jim Beam.

Another King Crimson fan. Saw them once back in the day.

Awesome.

Jealous!

I was born in December of 1970 so, sadly I was too young to see them in their heyday. IMO, the Greg Lake and John Wetton eras were the best.

I wasn’t aware of King Crimson and Prog in general until a couple of years ago. I was browsing on YouTube and listened to “Epitaph” and that was it. I fell in love with KC and Prog and I’m still discovering great Prog tunes.

I would have loved to see ELP. Their live videos on YouTube are epic.

I chose that particular verse from “Epitaph” for my tagline because it so aptly describes the state of the US and of the world.

Thanks for posting!

I saw ELP twice. Yes, three times. Jethro Tull, Blue Oyster Cult, Aerosmith, Jeff Beck, Zappa (4 times. Incredible), Skynard, Led Zeppelin…

No wonder I’m 3/4 deaf.

Wow! I’m so envious of you. I also would have loved to see Deep Purple with Ian Gillan. “Made In Japan” is my favorite live LP.

“ No wonder I’m 3/4 deaf.”

LMAO! But worth it:)

Yep. Them too. Richie Blackmore on guitar. Did you know Ian played the part of Jesus in “Jesus Christ Superstar”? I had the album.
