As long as the Public Schools keep their football teams, the vast majority of GOP parents will keep sending their kids to those schools and not care what they do to their kids (like Grooming), as long as the schools remain ‘free’.

I suspect that a majority of FReepers (meaning hard-core conservatives) do the same.

Texas legislature is in the process of killing school choice. I know a lot of Texas freepers don’t like Gov. Abbott, but he is way to the right of the average republican in the Texas legislature.

Idaho has a RINO problem, too.

Republicans everywhere, yet they can’t seem to repeal the grocery tax (one example).

In rural areas the school district is often the largest employer, especially of women. This is as true in red as well as blue states.

This article wrote about Republicans not being really conservative without referencing RINOs. RINOs are a problem - have been since before Rockerfeller - and everyone knows it. How can anyone speak of Republican Party failure without calling out the RINOs in the room.

That's why we can't stop liberals, leftists, and Democrats.

The article also makes the claim “the states with the boldest Republicans were also some with the narrowest margins of control and cites Florida as one example.

Florida has a supermajority of Republicans in both chambers of the legislature, plus all statewide cabinet officers are Rs. Not sure what the author was thinking when that was wrote.

He was trying to depress and discourage it appears.

Wyoming is the most conservative Republican state in the union. According to a graph in the linked article using American Conservative Union data, CA Republicans are far more conservative than WY Republicans. WY liberals run as Republicans because that's the only way they can win.

The answer to this question is very simple. Politicians are people who are above all else CONTROL FREAKS. School choice is an initiative that would permit a bit POWER and CONTROL to the little people. My friends, it is just that simple. Think of yourselves as little children and the politicians as your authoritative parents. Now you’ve got it!

Iowa just passed it.

But the deepest red counties were very angry. They viewed it as cutting the funding for smaller schools (which the dems had preached to them).

And yes, the sports teams were mentioned.

The Establishment GOP has ZERO care for conservatism, they will preach it at election time, to get the votes, and then rule just like the uniparty they are..

Until folks WAKE UP to this reality, nothing is going to change.
