TRUMP: You have a very ambitious guy in California. But he’s done a terrible job with the state. I used to get along great with him, you know, when I was president. Got along really good, Gavin.
CARLSON: Wait, you got along with Gavin Newsom?
TRUMP: I did. I really did. He was always very nice to me. Said the greatest things. He would say things like, “He’s doing a great job.”
CARLSON: About you?
TRUMP: About me. That’s why I could never hit him because he was so nice to me. He’s just laying in wait. But he was very nice to me and – relatively speaking – some of them weren’t. We did a good job for the governors.
Just ask Mark Milley.
This is true, I remember when Newsome said it. But Trump is right, again when he says in a nice way that Biden is cognitively shot and can't run. Biden cannot run unless the media circles the wagons and lies and protects him. again.
Yep… flattery is a weakness with him. He needs to be aware of BACKSTABBING FLATTERERS. Washington is loaded with them.
Interesting.
The obsession with “loyalty”.
Newsom was complimentary of Trump so Trump felt he can’t criticize.
Others supposedly don’t openly vocally support Trump so they are traitors. (To him.). And can be attacked and made fun of in childish ways.
Does a beloved child never deserve criticism from his loyal parent?
See, it’s ok to criticize. Not childishly, but constructively. Even someone you really like.
Talk him up, he likes and trusts you, then you can stab him in the back. Seems to be the way it goes/went.
In a perfect world it would be great if everyone got along. Cue the game show buzzer.
He should heed Aesop’s fable, The Fox and the Crow:

Governor Hair Gel got the memo from Rat Party Headquarters. As a result DJT is now “Orange Man Bad”
The thing Trump desires most is to be loved by the sort of people his base loathes.
He’s always going to be the guy from Queens desperate to be accepted in Manhattan.
Newsom treated him with respect. I always appreciated that too. You’ll notice Gavin is also on Truth Social. Trump has had no need to hit him. It would be interested to see how Trump would deal with someone who respects him but disagrees. On the internationally stage its clear Trump can still play hard ball under those circumstances. Domestically there haven’t been many like that
But, he is criticizing Newsom. He says Newsom has "done a terrible job with the state."
In other words, Trump can disagree with someone without insulting that person, as long as that person behaves in an agreeable way toward him.
Note: He adds that Newsom might've been lying in wait. So, Trump doesn't completely trust someone who flatters him.
As long as you pay homage to Trump, he loves you. It’s all about him, not the country.
Trump grants her all kinds of access, she files a story that filets him, then Trump ridicules her looks and the "failing New York Times."
Rinse and repeat.
I think he actually conflates the two
Trump was a registered Democrat for a very long time. I think one of his guiding principles is to reward good behavior and punish bad behavior. Go along with his agenda and compliment him on it and you’re okay, criticize and attack him and you be better ready for the overwhelming reaction you should have known was coming.
BS.

Who the heck can accomplish the above in four years while being impeached twice and investigated by Obama's Weaponized Agencies?
I watched the entire one hour Tucker episode with DJT last night. Trump was great. Even throwing in a little humor here and there.
Speaking about Putin throwing the “Nuclear” word around. He said there were two words a politician never says. Both begin with the letter “N”. Nuclear and...
