If you asked on the harm it would cause on poor working families, they would tell you that there will be public transportation options, there will be low-income housing that will allow them to live closer to their jobs, that this is all in the name of the environment.
On a separate note, the Soviet of Seattle, WA was looking at where to locate city installed public EV charging stations. They decided that even though the people who owned them tended to be in the better less diverse neighborhoods and the places those EV car owners wanted to go to were major office or shopping centers, that the City would put them in low income neighborhoods and in areas where there were lots of Women and Minority owned businesses.
