Seas have drastically risen along southern U.S. coast in past decade
Washington Post ^ | 04/10/2023 | Chris Mooney and Brady Dennis

Scientists have documented an abnormal and dramatic surge in sea levels along the U.S. gulf and southeastern coastlines since about 2010, raising new questions about whether New Orleans, Miami, Houston and other coastal communities might be even more at risk from rising seas than once predicted.

The acceleration, while relatively short-lived so far, could have far-reaching consequences in an area of the United States that has seen massive development as the wetlands, mangroves and shorelines that once protected it are shrinking. An already vulnerable landscape that is home to millions of people is growing more vulnerable, more quickly, potentially putting a large swath of America at greater risk from severe storms and flooding.

If the sea rises in the South, it also rises in the North, and West, and East. How stupid can these people be. Try filling up only one end of a swimming pool.

When they say we only have 9 years, it means they only have 9 years to get their new world order implemented before people realize this whole Climate Change thing was a bunch of BS.

But by then, it won’t matter. The damage will be done, and freedom is all gone.

Just the southern US coasts wow!

And here I was always taught that water seeks it’s own level across the board, guess my JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL science teacher was wrong huh?

I spend time on the Laguna Madre in Corpus Christi and lived in Flour Bluff for several years when I moved here. Ask the landowners along the shoreline of the Laguna Madre. I have been watching it for years and the level hasn’t changed in 33 years that I have been living near the coast. Along Laguna Shores Drive many residences are barely above sea level. When there is a really high tide water will be in yards. But the average level is the same.

I thought the post was humorous and captured my complete disgust with the idiocy of the global warmists quite nicely.

They’re just rising in the south...but no where else? That is so stupid it barely needs a reply. Yeah, the same thing happened in my pool the other day...it rose four inches at one end and stayed the same on the other end.

/\

The stupidity and dishonesty sure gets old doesn’t it !

Well they DID bury the seawall.

When I was a kid, 60 some years ago, sometimes you could put your hand under the seawall. Others, there was sand over the top of the seawall.

Tybee hasn’t changed much otherwise.

Everything I ever needed to know about how The Authorities really feel about climate change, is embodied in Obama's home on Martha's Vineyard.

Seas and oceans rise and fall when currents change. Done.

If the ocean is rising, why are there still as many Florida Keys as there were three centuries ago?

I’ve been scuba diving Klein Curaçao since 1988. It’s a tiny island (east of ‘big’ Curaçao) with a highest point that’s 20 feet above sea level. I was there as recently as October. It’s still 20 feet above sea level and still has the same beach huts as when I first dived there 35 years ago.
