The Air Force is reportedly loosening its body composition requirements and allowing recruits to have higher percentages of body fat.
"The Air Force is looking to open the aperture on qualifying a broader pool of young Americans for service in the Air Force. These changes bring the Air Force in line with DOD policy," Air Force Recruiting Service spokeswoman Leslie Brown said in a statement.
"While recruits will be allowed to join with greater body fat percentages, they will still be expected to meet the same fitness standards as everyone else to stay in the service," she added. "That means meeting the waist-to-height ratio requirement the Air Force announced in January and implemented this month."

Fat and vaxed is no way to go through life.
It’s my understanding that fighter pilots need to be able to withstand serious G forces...and that that requires one to be in good shape.
I thought that would be set at 1.0, but I found out it’s 0.55.
I remember a few FAT airmen back in 1966-1970. One was so fat we bet he had to pay someone to take his 5-BX training exercises for him.
I still have my 5-BX booklet. No way I can do the exercises today. I have found that a little extra fat pads the nerves in my back aleving me of severe pains in my old age.
I do not recommend any patriot join the military.
Fat Albert joins the Air Force.
Will billion-dollars fighter jets have to scrapped and then redesigned to accommodate heavier pilots?
Lol
WAPS-70’s. 50% of NCO’s of the security police got promoted to Staff while other specialties got only 5%. No one wanted to be in security. Now buck Sargents are called senior airmen. Now master Sargents have 3 stripes on the upper half of their insignia patches.
As a buck sergeant I had a ‘bad attitude’ just like the rest of them. ‘Lifers’ had a problem with us being called non commissioned officers. No one became an NCO until their 4 years were just about up. 15% could bypass the senior airman title by kissing butt and kicking ass on the others. All designed to put us down and instigate resentment amongst the troops. At that time Viet Nam was just over and the force was being downsized. That’s when I got out. Smart.
We had a guy that was totally unqualified to be in the AF. This was during Viet Nam. He was like the guy Lenny killed in ‘Of Mice and Men’. The program was to let them in for 2 years and hope they ‘qualified’ like the rest. Couldn’t pass the WAPS test. First Sargent had to get him to take a bath. Don’t know what happened to him.
A few officers were victims of Reduction in Force(RIFFED). Became enlisted. Then there was the Officer Evaluations-(OER). Try working under someone who is on a power trip or doesn’t like you. Some of the most bitter guys were career airmen. Those that liked it were vegetables.
They aren’t recruiting them to come back alive. They are recruiting them as pawns to take out Putin. Regime change must happen because those natural resources and slave labor are required to go green.
The Gaystoppo should be first in defense. Obama told us they were smarter.
That is all true. Pull 4 to 6 Gs in ACM for several minutes and you will sweat like a pig and lose 4 pounds from the exertion. Tensing up the legs and abdominals is a real workout.
Interestingly, flight physiologists have found that women and people with high blood pressure handle G's better than the stereotypical fit pilot.
That must be the reason that the military flight demo teams have more women pilots now...Right??
He said "I think" but the matter of factness portrayed more than "I think", IMO.
He said it as if he had been privy to high level decisions, which I am sure he had been. The link below takes you right to that part:
Diversity is really all that matters.
RED 6 - PORKINS!!
...open the aperture...
I want to scream when I hear this overused USAF buzzword.
