Rand Paul Calls for the Arrest of DA Bragg after Explosive Evidence Emerges in Trump Case
Daily Fetched ^ | April 6, 2023 | By: Jason Walsh

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul warned ‘corrupt’ Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg that he could be forced out of office and face arrest after new evidence surfaced in former president Donald Trump’s case.

“Wonder if DA Bragg remembers Durham DA Mike Nifong, who withheld exculpatory DNA tests on the Duke lacrosse players,” Paul said.

“He was subsequently forced out of office, disbarred, and convicted of contempt of court,” the Republican Senator added, referring to Nifong, the district attorney in the 2006 case accusing Duke University lacrosse players of rape before they were exonerated and escaped jail.

In a separate statement just before the news of Trump’s indictment, Rand Paul said, “A Trump indictment would be a disgusting abuse of power,” adding Bragg should face arrest and be “put in jail.”

Meanwhile, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said Congress would take action against Bragg after Trump appeared in Manhattan on Tuesday.

A Manhattan grand jury indicted Trump for his alleged role in money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election.

The former president pleaded not guilty to the 34 charges.

McCarthy vowed to hold Bragg accountable.

“Alvin Bragg is attempting to interfere in our democratic process by invoking federal law to bring politicized charges against President Trump, admittedly using federal funds, while at the same time arguing that the peoples’ representatives in Congress lack jurisdiction to investigate this farce. Not so. Bragg’s weaponization of the federal justice process will be held accountable by Congress,” McCarthy tweeted.

Last month, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said Bragg could be indicted for improperly pursuing an investigation against Trump.

“Now it’s time to arrest Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg for prosecutorial misconduct after hiding hundreds of pages of exculpatory evidence!” she wrote.

“Bragg is on the verge of indicting an innocent former President and top Presidential candidate against the opposing ruling party. Bragg is breaking the law and trying to incite civil unrest with his Soros-funded political war. Hold him accountable!” Greene added.

Meanwhile, Trump opponents like former National Security Adviser John Bolton voiced concern that Trump’s indictment could propel him to the White House.

“I’m not worried about Alvin Bragg hurting Donald Trump,” Bolton told CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday following news of the indictment.

“I’m worried about Alvin Bragg benefiting Donald Trump,” he admitted.

I like this man. He fights.

Shame on the Democrats and RINOs and the voters who support the despicable rot from which this country is suffering.

Nifong should have been in jail for a long long time.

Disbarment was not nearly enough. If successful he would have sent TO PRISON college kids that he knew to be innocent.

That alone should warrant him a jail term equivalent of what they would have been sentenced to.

But in addition to that, he CONSPIRED to withhold evidence.

It was not that he just found out something and withheld it, he conspired with someone else to hide it.

That should double the sentence.

Boy, there sights are low. Yeah, it seems like Bragg is the newest shiny object, and while Bragg needs to be taken down, the real target should be Soros.

I believe Bragg is acting dishonorably but shouldn’t his critics explain how their conclusions are based the contents of the indictment and perhaps even the evidence presented at a trial?

“after hiding hundreds of pages of exculpatory evidence”

I’m pretty sure he isn’t required to present exculpatory evidence to the grand jury, or in his indictment.

He does have to provide it during discovery, but we are not at that phase yet. So it’s a bit premature to say he hasn’t disclosed it.

The “folkie” Nifong sold his Martin guitar, and supposedly trying to live, doing what noone knows, in the mountains of NC. Not well liked by any side except the 26 Duke professors who jumped the shark on the accusations and assumed guilt of the team members. The stripper/hooker’s home “club” (a real dump) closed and been for sale since then, and the stripper/hooker? Why, she murdered the same pimp that put her up to this gambit and she’s serving life w/out parole. Gone.. bang.. zoom!

He allegedly withheld exculpatory evidence............

They haven't gone through discovery yet. He couldn't have withheld evidence.

Rand is too smart to claim that but not this idiot blogger.

He intentionally withheld exculpatory evidence from the Grand Jury in order to clinch his indictment.

He's under no obligation to present exculpatory evidence to the grand jury.

Bam fat Bragg testicles are in the vice hat tip to Rand Paul.

I could handle a President Paul, with his Father in charge of the Federal Reserve. Throw in RFK as VEEP. At this point intelligence and character are #1 and #2. This would drive the Commie Left crazy as much as Trump.
