California Can’t Power the State but is Forging Ahead with Electric Truck Mandate
California Globe ^ | April 5, 2023 | Katy Grimes

California is rich in natural resources which once powered the state: natural gas deposits in the Monterey Shale formation; geothermal energy, abundant rivers and waterways such as the San Joaquin River Delta and hydroelectric dams; the Pacific coastline; 85 million acres of wildlands with 17 million of those used as commercial timberland; mines and mineral resources, vast farming and agricultural lands, and hunting and fishing.

Despite this abundance, in June 2020 the California Air Resources Board (CARB) approved regulations to require automakers to sell more electric commercial trucks, with the ultimate goal of all new trucks sold in rather state to be zero-emission by 2045.

Next question, how many people can California sustain if it fully adopts its green fanaticism?

Well pay more for everything coming from the Left Coast

Trucking companies will just build huge container transfer warehouses and yards in a nearby state and and ship use real trucks

Either way, the consumers are the ones who will take it in the @$$...again

“regulations to require automakers to sell more electric commercial trucks”

When are they going to start requiring people to purchase them?

As soon as SCOTUS lets them get away with calling it a “tax”.

“The Barbarian hopes — and that is the mark of him — that he can have his cake and eat it too. He will consume what civilization has slowly produced after generations of selection and effort, but he will not be at pains to replace such goods, nor indeed has he a comprehension of the virtue that has brought them into being. Discipline seems to him irrational, on which account he is ever marveling that civilization, should have offended him with priests and soldiers.... In a word, the Barbarian is discoverable everywhere in this, that he cannot make: that he can befog and destroy but that he cannot sustain; and of every Barbarian in the decline or peril of every civilization exactly that has been true.

All we need is a citizens initiative to amend the State Constitution:

The PEACE Act
The Public Employee Anti Carbon Emission Act

There shall be NO Taxpayer funds used for the purchase of any kind of fossil fuel for any reason. It shall be a Felony for any Public Employee to bring any ICE powered Vehicle on to Government Property.

Force them to live up to their rules

Sometimes I wish the Ukraine Cheerleaders would get their way. At least we’ll get to start over again, but without the cities to pull us down. Similar to Japan after WW2.

The battery pack in the New Hummer H3 weighs over 3,000 pounds to move a 9,000 pound vehicle. The gross vehicle weight of a typical tractor-trailer combination is 20-40 tons or so. How much cargo weight will have to be forfeited in order to allow for the added weight of the battery pack, which will surely be several tons. To say nothing of the increased costs due to the lower cargo capacity per trip.

The new Tesla tractor trailer has an announced all up Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 82,000 pounds. How much of this weight will be for the battery pack?

An EV typically weighs 40% more than a comparable ICE vehicle, due to the weight of the battery pack. Don’t forget to factor in the increased wear on tires, infrastructure and roads, bridges, etc., along with the concomitant maintenance needs and further damage to Mother Earth Gaia as a result...

Much of our governing elites are beyond belief stupid and reckless. But then again, I have yet to factor in corrupt, mendacious and tyrannically obsessed with control.
