Republican 2024 presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy told Daily Caller editor Grayson Quay that he initially supported Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, but now believes that he is not the candidate to lead the Republican Party in the upcoming presidential election.
DeSantis is expected to be former President Donald Trump’s main rival in the primary election as repeated polling has shown the Florida governor and former president to be neck-and-neck in a potential race. Ramaswamy formally entered the race on Feb. 21, and exclusively told Quay that he no longer believes DeSantis is the new leader of the Republican Party.

Like daddy Bush I considered it voodoo economics myself. Sure running a deficit juices the economy in the short term but eventually you have to pay the piper. After Reagan ran up the deficit the Republican party moved away from being deficit hawks and look where we are today with a $31 trillion unpayable debt. People like to credit Reagan’s arms build up with collapsing the Soviet Union but they were already collapsing economically at that point and such expenditures were unnecessary at that time.
Until he got a check from the DNC.
They may have found a worse candidate than Jeb this time.
Kasich said all the right things once. He won a few races b4 jumping in.
BTTT
Support Trump if you will. I do. But it’s not required to make up tales about the most effective conservative Governor in the nation. In fact, it makes you look stupid.
“repeated polling has shown the Florida governor and former president to be neck-and-neck in a potential race.”
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Show me a single poll that shows them “neck-and-neck”...
what garbage.
Hey, Ramaswamy: do you agree with Trump to carry out mass deportations?
Conservatives shouldn’t talk to the disinformation media. You go in knowing they will lie about you. Why give them somethign to do it with?
He did NOT “flip flop” on Ukraine.
Some pro-Trump group is running ads on FNC attacking DeSantis. Why bother? To make sure he has no chance of being the nominee in 2028?
“He articulates conservative positions like a sniper.”
So does Ted Cruz. Just be careful. You can’t always judge a politician by what he says.
“What part of this being easily remedied by President Trump relocating, temporarily (4 years) to another state don’t you understand?”
So you actually think that President Trump will relocate away from the state where he only moved to 3 years ago - just so he can facilitate Ron DeSantis - who he HATES - he has been insulting him for months now - as his running mate?
You know I think the Pet Zealot blog is featuring videos of a shih tzu wearing a birthday hat today. Maybe that’s more your speed.
“Trump is never going to pick DeSantis as a running mate. He feels betrayed by him and considers him a traitor. DeSantis is part of the establishment while Trump is challenging it. Plus putting DeSantis on the ticket does nothing as far as bringing more votes. Trump already wins Florida in the general election without him.“
Well said. But there are still many here who don’t know the Constitution well enough to know it’s not legal - or that somehow Trump, the top of the ticket and former President- will somehow relocate to some other random state just to facilitate DeSantis to be his VP, who he hates.
Nah! Donald loves Florida and his Mar-a-Lago estate.
Just a wet dream by Desantis for VP people.
Cruz never spent 8 figures of his own money for his campaign.
Like all career politicians, Cruz does not run his own business to build wealth. Cruz depends on his sugar daddy donors like all career politicians. Swamy is spending his own money, not money from sugar daddy’s. Big difference. Hope you are smart enough to comprehend the difference.
The ability to self-finance his own campaign is just one data point among many that need to be taken into account. If that’s all that mattered, you can make the same argument about Mike Bloomberg as you’re making about Ramaswamy. Bloomberg’s campaign was self-financed. He spent a billion dollars of his own money to finance it. I hope you’re smart enough to comprehend what I just said. If not, let me know and I’ll try to rephrase it for you.
You so bad in comparing candidates.
Bloomberg has no ability to speak 10 words without boring the audience. And Bloomberg is not even close to be MAGA.
What does that have to do with my point? Nothing. My point was that a candidate’s ability to articulate conservative principles (e.g. Ted Cruz) and his ability to finance his own campaign (e.g. Mike Bloomberg), are just two data points that don’t necessarily mean he will put America’s interests ahead of his own. I guess that really WAS too difficult for you to understand.
Vivek was in my neck of the woods a couple weeks ago. Coming back after Easter. May go see him.
More seriously, it does say that you have to be a natural born citizen and we still don’t know that about Ramaswamy. The SCOTUS would have to weigh in if it looked like he might have a shot.
