EXCLUSIVE: Vivek Ramaswamy Says He Wanted DeSantis For 2024, Until…

Republican 2024 presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy told Daily Caller editor Grayson Quay that he initially supported Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, but now believes that he is not the candidate to lead the Republican Party in the upcoming presidential election.

DeSantis is expected to be former President Donald Trump’s main rival in the primary election as repeated polling has shown the Florida governor and former president to be neck-and-neck in a potential race. Ramaswamy formally entered the race on Feb. 21, and exclusively told Quay that he no longer believes DeSantis is the new leader of the Republican Party.

I support DeSantis but Vivek is raising questions I think DeSantis has to answer. Vivek has my attention with this interview.

I keep hearing from this guy and he’s pretty smart. He articulates conservative positions like a sniper. He’s to the point and knows how to sell his points. If you havent heard him check him out on jordan peterson’s podcast.

We need to nominate people who can win. Not just the ones that we like.

Vivek Ramaswamy knows DeSantis is irrelevant at this point. I like much of what he says and might consider voting for him in ‘28 if he runs then.

“I still think the best bet for winning in 2024 is Trump for Pres and DeSantis for VP.”

That will never happen for myriad reasons. I guarantee it.

Biden’s 80 - Trump’s 76. Anyone who says “Age doesn’t matter” must be talking about cheese or wine, not presidents imo.

What part of the Constitution that says the President and Vice President can’t be from the same state don’t you people understand?

Trump is a Florida resident. DeSantis is a Florida resident. DeSantis is governor of Florida, he’s not moving. Where do you expect Trump to move to? Back to New York?

Seriously, between comments like this and the all the cutesy dog videos posted on this forum lately it feels like Free Republic has been invaded by a bunch of six year olds.

Trump is never going to pick DeSantis as a running mate. He feels betrayed by him and considers him a traitor. DeSantis is part of the establishment while Trump is challenging it. Plus putting DeSantis on the ticket does nothing as far as bringing more votes. Trump already wins Florida in the general election without him.

I had no problem with DeSantBush until it came out who is funding his campaign along with his 180 on the Ukraine Hustle where he literally used Romney and McCain talking points.

He doesn’t have the funding without the Bush-Cheney donors and he’ll be owned by them in policy decisions.

Hello!

Easily remedied by President Trump relocating, temporarily (4 years) to another state.

Trump isn’t like Reagan in that respect. He takes and holds personal grudges and once betrayed will never trust that person again. DeSantis has made a huge mistake running against Trump just look at him failing in the polls. He brings nothing to the Trump ticket.
