In Bragg's world, since Cohen used some of the $450,000 he was paid to pay off a $130,000 loan he took out to pay off Daniels then somehow the payments of his invoices and the accurate recording of those transactions is supposedly "false" business records. That's a crazy, clown world.
Presumably if Cohen had bought a boat and paid his marina fees with the money he received from being on retainer as an attorney then Bragg would insist that the invoices, checks, and general ledger entries say "paid for lawyer's boat and docking fees" which is obviously ridiculous.
There is no requirement anywhere, including in New York, that business records reflect underlying motivations for the transaction. The records should reflect the transaction itself. You might hire a painter to paint your warehouse because you wanted to help him put his kids through college. But the business records would show "painting" not "college tuition for Harry's kids"
That’s exactly what I keep thinking. I never understand why it isn’t.
Indicted.... but no law was broken. It’s straight out of Beria’s Soviet Union.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Beria would be proud seeing how his persecution strategy is being employed right here in the “Land of the Free”!
Except that there is no underlying crime to hide.
“Except that there is no underlying crime to hide.”
Cohen pled guilty and went to the federal pen for it.
True, except for RATs.
I was under the impression he accepted a plea deal to avoid being prosecuted for more serious crimes. I did not follow his case closely so I am quite possibly or even probably wrong.
But the distinction here between Trump and Cohen with regards to the hush payments possibly violating a federal campaign finance law is that Cohen didn't fight it while Trump will. And of course that Cohen's case was federal while Trump's is not.
His most heinous offense was scaring the living sh*t out of Obama, Clinton, Biden, and scores of their Deep State apparatchiks all of whom could have been convicted of crimes like treason that carry the death penalty. That’s why they will stop at nothing to make certain he’ll never get a another opportunity to make them soil their undies!
It? What is it ?
Cohen pled guilty to several counts of tax evasion and making false statements. I'd say those were more of the "it" which led to prison time than the dubious at best campaign finance law violation.
“Cohen pled guilty to several counts of tax evasion and making false statements. “
and campaign finance violations ...
No – but there must be at least 12 votes toward an indictment in the New York court system.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Piece of cake. Members of the jury are already intimidated and paid off before the jury is even seated. Standard procedure in Communist jurisprudence.
Now, it’s just a matter of how long before a REAL judge looks at this laughable indictment document and throws it out.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
A real judge? You’re a real optimist, and I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for one to appear if I were you!
>> The process is the punishment.
Usually... but in Trump’s case, it will turn out to be publicity and a maga-fired-up base that vaults him into the presidency in 2024, well worth the time and money that (for him) are, relatively speaking, peanuts.
As a bonus, he’ll get to kick Alvin Braggs’ teensy little prog-balls up into his esophagus region. Politically speaking. You’ll won’t hear squat from that fat soros buttboy ever again.
So you side with Alvin Bragg?
“So you side with Alvin Bragg?”
Grow up and quit with the juvenile posts.
How many jurors are there?
My understanding is there can be as many as 23. So 12 would barely be a majority in that case. Seems like the requirement should be a little higher.
Trump made about 245 judicial appointments during his presidency, so there’s hope.
You grow up troll!
You still didn’t answer the question.
