Representative Austin Scott (R-GA) informed Just The News that House Republicans were considering removing prosecutorial immunity if they engaged in misconduct like bringing politicized charges. The Georgian lawmaker remarked that “I think you’re going to have to look at prosecutorial misconduct and whether or not prosecutors in this country should be exempt from liability.” The Republican Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), hinted that his colleagues were looking for ways to hold the Democrat Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg accountable for his political prosecution of Donald Trump.
Representative Scott suggested that Republicans should build on the move to end qualified immunity from police officers and turn the tables by ending immunity for political prosecutors. He said that “These left-wing, liberal prosecutors and George Soros prosecutors want to take away immunity from police officers, yet they want to maintain it for themselves. I guarantee you if this prosecutor did not have immunity for his actions, he would not have filed this against Donald Trump.”
Mr. Scott added that “maybe we need to be looking at how a prosecutor who abuses his power the way this Manhattan district attorney has done becomes personally liable and potentially criminally chargeable for their actions. And the state of Georgia has actually created a framework where prosecutors who operate outside of their bounds could be reviewed by their peers and potentially removed from office.”

Good. Use lawfare against the DemonCraps.
Wish in one hand and crap in the other...
Guess which one gets filled first...
No need. There is already 42 USC section 1983. Prosecutorial misconduct is a violation of civil rights under color of authority.
Exactly!! This crap will go on and on and on, until we start electing people who will take the fight back to the Dems. The act like a__holes because there is NEVER any blow back. The Republicans are too damn busy reaching across the isle and “taking the moral high ground”. The hell with that, I want to see some blood.
They can’t do any such thing without the senate and President.
Enough talk do it dammits do it!! Start tomorrow not next week or next month BUT tomorrow.!!!!!!!!!!
= = =
How about a headline:
“Yesterday the House GOP took action, which is in effect now.”
The Repukes in Congress don’t have the balls to do anything outside of writing letters.
I’’ believe it when i see it
No one will do anything because, after all, they would be attacking a fellow member of The Swamp.
I think the Republicans should take off the gloves and go straight to the strongly worded letter.
Nifong often comes to mind with this jackass.
Do it, yesterday. Give us something to Bag and Bragg about!!
As a general matter, all government employees need to be accountable when wrongly exerting their powers over private citizens, with private citizens being anyone not currently employed by government. Additionally, all government employees should not have any immunity to defamation and liable suits.
meanwhile, behind the do nothing GOP smokescreens, the dems keep adding to their election fraud infrastructure.
Considering??? This asshat is making laws for one man and one man only… And apparently that man has broken the laws that Fat Al has “deemed” in existence.
Kinda like Obamacare....
Vicious and not fair. Perfumed princess rinos might have a fainting spell.
Considering, wishing, Hoping, Maybe.
What A Joke.
Actual action? With consequences? I’d be shocked if this happened!
Senate wouldn’t go for it. Graham, Romney, and a few other GOPe squishes would not allow such a bill do pass.
